It must be in Chenecks best interests to play us on a Saturday with a crowd of 350/400 rather than a game against the Kings Arms Second XI with a crowd of 20

There was over 200 there last year for a weekday night for the U18's game on the astro turf pitch over the road.

It's the League's decision though isn't it? Honestly seems like the UCL board needs some real reform.

We may moan about these lesser cup games being given priority over League matches but i imagine the Local F.A and UCL take a percentage of gate receipts which helps raise funds so having the games on Saturday makes for a higher attendence and a better cut.

Just look at the list of Cup Competitions on Pages 9, 10 and 11 of the latest UCL newsletter. It is mind blowing and no wonder all clubs have a problem with fulfilling league fixtures when priority is given to Cup fixtures over league fixtures.

I've just seen our game has been PPd because of a Reserves cup match. WTF? A Reserves fixture takes precedence over a 1st XI? That is truly bonkers!

Neither the NFA or the UCL take any of the gate receipts from these matches. Any profits are split 50-50 between the competing clubs.

So why play them on a Weekend then, get the NFA and UCL to tell us the reasons why these lesser cup games have priority over League games.

I know this region is not the only one to suffer this problem but why don't the clubs get together and change the situation or do other clubs not mind the situation or is it a case of not rocking the boat and upsetting the blazer brigade that run football.
