I think Whitworths will come out and try and bully us out of playing football.

They played a mostly reserve team on Saturday according to reports so may be saving themselves for tonight.

They did very well then, taking a two goal lead at Spencer, before running out of steam. They do appear to struggle to field a full bench. However, whoever they put we must not to take them lightly and we must play with tempo from the off.
Will be interesting to see Starms starting team. I'm going for Cross, Merrill, Deakin, Hope and Brown at the the back, McBride, Harris and Gearing in midfield, King playing behind Newman and Taylor playing wide right in an advanced position.

Based on Starm's comments on Saturday you could be quite close with that selection. I think maybe Wiz instead of Gearing to start though.

Come on lads. I'll be booking train tickets for Saturday the moment the full-time whistle goes if we win/draw. :D :D :D

You may be right, I thought Gearing because he's naturally left sided although Wiz can play there and is more likely to score.

I think Gearing is naturally right footed ( he certainly takes corners with his right), although he does seem suited to playing on the left.
I didn't think either Gearing or Wiz had their best games on Saturday but I think the bumpy surface and long grass didn't suit anyone who wanted to dribble with the ball.

Same, wouldn't usually come back from uni for one football match especially with exams nearing, but no way I could miss our first (hopefully!) promotion and it would be the first Diamonds' promotion I've witnessed :D

Tonight won't be easy and we shouldn't think it is as that would only help Whitworths who will be up for it and like SRJFC says they'll try to bully us, as judging by the game at their place, its all they can do really, but an early goal as ever in these games will do very nicely, just as long as we don't **** about towards the end.
