You would, however, expect Bedford Town's OWS to get our name right.Diamond_ Wolf wrote: Plenty of people refer to AFC Wimbledon as just 'Wimbledon' because in essence they are 'Wimbledon'

Perhaps, but whereas Rushden & Diamonds FC would be an error, simply writing Rushden & Diamonds is more a simple omission of something that is often ommitted (the AFC/FC element).Trek wrote:You would, however, expect Bedford Town's OWS to get our name right.Diamond_ Wolf wrote: Plenty of people refer to AFC Wimbledon as just 'Wimbledon' because in essence they are 'Wimbledon'
If we play Bournemouth, I would not condemn those who forget the AFC prefix to the club, just as it seems unnecessary to write Hull City AFC or Brentford FC.
We are AFC Rushden & Diamonds, but if, over time, we are just Rushden & Diamonds in normal discussion, that is fine by me.

To add,
On the Bedford website, neither Stoke City nor Kidderminster Harriers have an AFC/FC description. This does not seem to be an error, nor abnormal, in my book.

I don't think it matters, there's no need to get worked up over three letters.

I think that locally we can all differentiate between the two incarnations of our club, but does it really matter on a more national basis. If it ever happens, do you think we will all politely refer to AFC K*ttering? I doubt it very much.

Finally someone agrees with me, it drives me mad seeing how many websites refer to us as 'Rushden & Diamonds' and I've seen it with all the other phoenix clubs as well, its not that I didn't like the old club obviously, its just we're a different and fresh new club, so it would be nice if people could get our name right :roll:UttoDiamond wrote:I see someone's got our name wrong again...aaaaaarrrrrgghhhhh... Although I do see from time to to time, AFC Wimbledon just referred to as Wimbledon.

Actually we are a "re-formed" club, as recognised by the FA. We ARE Rushden & Diamonds, that's why we voted to keep the name. We had a few options to choose from, which was all cosmetic really.Olly wrote: Finally someone agrees with me, it drives me mad seeing how many websites refer to us as 'Rushden & Diamonds' and I've seen it with all the other phoenix clubs as well, its not that I didn't like the old club obviously, its just we're a different and fresh new club, so it would be nice if people could get our name right
