At 37 pounds a shirt I doubt many people will waste their money if its hardly worn.

Members were asked on the 7th February by our Chairman on our views for having a third kit. I would suggest that was the time to pass comment, not now when the decision and vote on the kit design has taken place.
I think the Sky Blue kit looks great, by the way, and trust the DRMF benefits greatly from sales of this kit and look forward to seeing it being worn at many away games next season.

I'm a member and wasn't asked as for the last 6-9 months I haven't been able to log onto the official site for one reason or another. I also cannot make midweek meetings for work reasons. I think it is a complete waste of money for the club bearing in mind we only have approx 400-500 supporters of very varying sizes. Over half don't buy a shirt at all, at a guess I'd say only about a third buy away shirts which by a logical conclusion means that we will probably only sell about 100-150 red shirts. What happens if for example we buy in 100 shirts in 5 different sizes yet only two or three sizes sell? Will we be able to return the ones that don't sell or will they be sold at a loss in a year or two??? I'm just playing devils advocate here.

I can't understand why you are unable to log onto the members forum. Perhaps you need to ask Chas or Stacey to resolve this problem for you. However, members were asked, commented and voted. That's how democracy works RH.

I have just deleted past messages that have been swapped with Chas going back to September last year which is how I know I've been trying to log in for ages. Chas is looking into it as we speak and has been most of the day if facebook messages are anything to go by. I understand how democracy works, the first I was aware of the decision was when the vote was for the colour, not for whether to have a third kit. I'm all for making money for the club or for DR, I just think this is going to cost us. Hopefully I will be proven wrong (it won't be the first time).
I'm guessing once they are made we cannot return them if they don't sell????

I'm sure Stagman will manage the amount of stock OK and the reason that we are using Macron, is that they could accommodate a design that isn't 'bespoke' which wasn't possible with the existing kit suppliers in the numbers we anticipate we could sell so it's clear that the Club is doing this third kit as cost effectively as possible.

I know mate, I have only bought the home one so far, but I will buy an away one next year. We are only going to order a set number of these so when they are gone they are gone.
As Trek says we did gauge whether it was worth doing it at the last members forum and on the members internet forum as it's a lot of work to organise and if there wasn't going to be the demand it wouldn't have been worth it and it would have saved me a fair bit of time.
Sorry that you weren't asked, hopefully we can get you logged into the members internet forum so you can see it all.

Well I'm delighted with the colour choice and its a quality shirt - I'll be buying this one, I haven't got one of the "new" shirts yet, but will definately have one of these - I may even dig deep for one of the existing home shirts this year too if the old pennies can stretch that far
