I wonder why we could not have signed Dev Ellwood and loaned him out to BPW if that is his destination, it would have been nice to have someone of his calibre in reserve should we be overloaded with injuries during this coming season. It was clear he loved playing for our club.

unfortunately you cannot sign someone and loan them to another UCL club

Technically you can't loan them to anyone unless they are signed on a contract.
Last season the players who were "on loan" in other leagues were "dual registraion" (i.e. on registration forms in both leagues for separate clubs). When Louis went to BPW he had to sign for them.
