I see former Corby striker Gary King, who turned down a pro deal at Lincoln City to sign for Spalding this summer, has now left them before the season has begun and started arguing with Spalding players on Twitter.

Pat Rayment is now being linked to the Corby Town's vacant manager's position and it wouldn't surprise me one jot if he resumed his association with this club.

Not sure about his comment about their 'fantastic fan base'.

However, should he chose to accept any offer that Ingram may make I would expect him to raid the current Tulips squad and take a number of players with him. I'm sure that if this happened it would really open up the UCL Premier title race.

Bit negative Trek :o The UCL Premier title race is already open :!: though possibly only to 2 teams :)
May be worth opening a book though that should he be offered and take job, how much Tulip picking he does on the way out the door, sure we can all name the first 2/3.
On the fan base issue, don`t forget anything above 80 is big numbers for him.

What does Rayment have on his CV that's better than failing to gain promotion for the club with the biggest budget in the UCL last season? Given his "tinkerman" reputation last season, Spalding might become a better side with a different manager in place. After all he claimed that if they didn't go up they would take advantage of having a settled side to go up this season - and then promptly splashed the cash to make a raft of new signings after they could only finish third.

I didn't want to sound over confident bearing in mind there are some who have already given the title to Spalding. ;)

Including the Oadby chairman.

I have told him, the secretary, the general/first team manager and all three of their fans on more than one occasion.

No but they did turn up at Spalding on the opening day of the season as fixture was advertised as Spalding V last seasons UCL Div 1 Champions
The only down side of winning on Tue night was we now travel to Northwood on Sat 31st when we should have been at home to Cogenhoe on the day when, yes you guessed out friends from Oadby visit Sh*tworths, what fun we could have had with some complimentary songs sung over the new fence
Still good things come to those who wait, maybe we will meet them in the League Cup, FA Vase or FA oh no sorry they got dumped out of the big one last week. :o
