In some respects he's been a victim of his own flexibility. The lack of numbers in Widnes meant he had to play centre-back, the problems with the heat and lack of defensive cover last Thursday meant he had to switch from the wing to centre back for the second half, and today the injury to Allen meant he had to go up front as there were no other striking options on the bench. He took his goal well - as he did on Saturday. Given he'll miss the first two games, and Fazel will then be absent, I think he'll share one of the wide midfield roles with Fazel in the first month or so of the season.BartonRaz wrote:Didn't go tonight, but I've found the use of Nat Liburd this pre-season a bit weird. He seems to have played in just about every position and only started a couple of games.
Having dropped down a division to play for us when he was getting regular football last season, I assumed he would be a key player for us.

So starting XI for Saturday then? I didn't realise that Koriya was unavailable, that's a blow. Hopefully the Taylor-Dunkley partnership will be more in-sync now they've had a month to play together.
R.I.P Dale. We will never forget you.

Whats the situation with Faz? He'll be a key player but if he's not available it'll give others a chance to impress

I understood that Nat was suspended, as confirmed on the match preview, so will miss the first two league fixtures but reading Formic's post it didn't actually say that Faz was unavailable on Saturday so I expect him to play.Three of Diamonds wrote:Whats the situation with Faz? Nat will miss Deeping & Sileby through a suspension carried over from last season, when I last spoke to Fazel, he is available for both the above games but goes to the States on Wed 14th for 3 weeks so will miss everything from London Colney on 17th to Cogenhoe on 31st total 4 games. Thought Nat did ok last night & I agree is his able to play just about anywhere. Merrill was back to almost his best, still could do with opening up sometimes and not just heading in the direction his nose is pointing, it`s been a long wait but hopefully he`s back & wearing the No 2 shirt. Nice gentle run out for Deaks to get back into things, Crossy had a relatively easy night, Brad solid as ever, Elliot had another decent game, the left back is finally back on the pace
Who will start Sat :?: :?: particularly center mid. Any 2 from, Kingy, Brad, Shan,Maddox, Grainger or Elliot :?: answers on a post card. or we all put £2 in and try to name Saturdays starting line up, use Subs as a tie breaker.

Am I right in thinking he'll potentially miss 2 FA Cup games? That's not good.Brownie wrote:Nat will miss Deeping & Sileby through a suspension carried over from last season, when I last spoke to Fazel, he is available for both the above games but goes to the States on Wed 14th for 3 weeks so will miss everything from London Colney on 17th to Cogenhoe on 31st total 4 games.

Early rounds of FA Cup come thick and fast, 17th Aug, 31st Aug, 14th Sept, 28th Sept, so if we beat Colney he will miss the next round :oops:BartonRaz wrote:Am I right in thinking he'll potentially miss 2 FA Cup games? That's not good.
On a positive note though, by the time he does play in the FA Cup this season we will only be 3 rounds away from Luton at home
