I suspect gibston may have inside information. ;)
Judging by some player's comments on twitter today, I suspect they are not used to having their performances analysed by fans when they played for other clubs. However, one of our players who I won't name was particularly critical of our team.
I see what you mean, they have to realize though it comes with the territory, if its too hot in the kitchen get out an all that!!
What players have got to learn is that one day they are loved the next they are hated (or considered rubbish) is the law of football, also I suppose on the other foot us fans need to step back abit and think about the crap that we spout
On the players plus side I have never seen a player yet to put on a AFC shirt and NOT give 100%, long may that continue, as soon as that stops happening theirs trouble at the mill.
It`s level 5 football and 4 days ago we were all wishing for a result and a decent draw on Monday morning which could have put us in a place only a dozen or so teams from our present level have ever been, now those players are not good enough. The dreadful defense  is mainly those who let in 2 goals from 11 games following the events of Jan 5th last season, teams attack as a unit and defend as one, so if the attacking side of our game is acceptably they all take the credit, but if we don`t defend as well as some may wish dito........... or just blame any 2 from 4
Don`t think any of our players are paid enough to be Hated, though with the gates we get and our income we could do as some claim (PW for example) we are doing and splash the cash & almost assure promotion is possible. But from memory that`s not what this Club is about, guess it could be said if the players can`t stand the heat etc etc, or if supporters want to win the league this year follow Spalding
Last season the aim was promotion, it was achieved, this season a target of top 5 was openly talked about and don`t remember any loud cries of "that`s not good enough" I am 100% confident that will happen, and a good cup run was on the wish list, well we chucked 2, but of the others think we went further in one than anybody expected, and just checked and we are still in the Vase.
We may have to be careful what we wish for, as IMO the lads we have are a decent bunch and I would think at this level and for £not a lot a week, the is a level of how much "CRAP" as referred to, anyone is prepared to take, and as a Club we could without doubt spend a whole lot more for a whole lot less.
Of course option 2 is spend 100% in revenue glide through to level 3 them hit a brick wall, anyone follow the St Neots on going story

Oh and with above comes no saving and long term ground share at The D&D.

People that tutted after the game last night should read the match report, I quote that was our first league defeat in our clubs history!!! Yes it was disappointing, but hey come on, be fair!! As far as I'm concerned we were beaten by a very good side, but onwards and upwards. And to all the moaners, like to see you run around for 90 mins, I know I couldn't!!! SS

Couldn`t agree more, especially the running about for 90 mins bit
Sure everyone is disappointed and can assure you none more so than the players, can`t speak for them but one I know quite well is his own biggest critic, and he was not happy with last night on a personal as well as team front.
But excluding those games when we have fielded a less that full strength side through choice, I make that 4 league defeats & one in the Vase last season + one in FA Cup this, if offered above 2 years ago when we didn`t even have an adult side, possibly most would have accepted it, though football fans being what we are sure someone would have wanted more

So we lost a game. We'll lose a few more and win a lot more this season. We've still got the Vase to think about and, despite last night's disappointment, we are still a contender for top 5 at least. Would you rather have what we've got now or be ground sharing with K*ttering at Nene Park and paying you know who a king's ransom in rent?

I am not sure that a 3 figure pay packet per match is £not a lot.

Judging by some of the comments on this thread anybody would think the players have been pilloried from all quarters. Baffling.
Also, sorry Brownie but I have to take issue with some of your post. Who in our team is hated? And the 'there's only so much crap somebody is prepared to take' - please explain as I rarely see any direct criticism on this forum, let alone regular direct criticism at the same player. I've never seen it happen at a game either. Well, not since the days of Greg Pearson!

I just bumped into a player who said Elliot Dent was told there was no place for him at the club, so he has parted company as from last night.

It's one loss, it's hardly the end of the world. Surely last season should've taught us that it isn't over until it's over? We probably won't win the league, but you never know. Let's just enjoy the season and the Vase, if we don't go up then we'll be in a great position to challenge next season, especially if Spalding win it this year.
BTW I don't want to sound like a moaning killjoy but I think spreading rumours is something we could do without.
