Re: New cover at the D&D
Just out of interest how does this work with the landlords, does the club have to get permission to construct stands etc? And is this all financed by afc? It's great all this work is being done but whos idea is it to upgrade the facilities? Thanks

No sweets mid week, possibly going straight from work so it's burger tomorrow or curry on way home.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Visiting tomorrow on the way to Sileby, any requests?Brownie wrote:Sit on the wall and use the roof as a foot rest.SouthRushdenJFC wrote:Get anymore rain, we'll be sitting on he roof.
The sweet shop will be at the far end Dave.

Fantastic, its always nice to see changes at the D&D and it will be nice to have a bit of extra cover, are there any plans to put something behind the 'away' goal?

All work undertaken by us, is OK'd with WTFC (who we work closely with) anything that helps both clubs, we share the costs, anything that will benefit AFCR&D, we pay for, and is our property.
At present, we own the Peter DeBanke stand, Dales bar, the office and Club shop, the new turnstiles and now the cover down the hotel side. These are all assets for the club and items we can take with us when we find a new ground.
We are trying to build for the future, whilst making our present surroundings feel like home. It is a difficult balance, but one we hope the fans will appreciate? We do not do any work that will not benefit AFCR&D, all the work on the pitch, and everything else is done in our club's interest. 8-)

Not at present, we are however having some more seats coming that will fit into the main stand, to help bring the ground grading up to SL standards. As and when we find the cash, we will look at other improvements that we can utilise at our new ground in the future 8-)

Good stuff guys, keep up the good work.
Must say, although it's early days the transformation in the pitch at the D&D this season has been amazing.
