It looks like Spalding have signed Jon Fairweather from Wisbech - who was their captain when we played them, and who was involved in the incident that saw the ref give Aaron King his second yellow.

I see that Pat Payment is having a dig at us in the match preview in the Spalding local rag and quotes that 'they have fans that are living the the past and think they are still in the Football League and how he hopes the present incarnation of the club lasts longer than the last one'. He also added 'the criticism we get from their fans about the amount we are spending but it's all within budget and no more than St Neots, Long Buckby and Holbeach spent when they won the title'.
Adds a bit of spice to the match I suppose.

Think anything Pat Payment says is best ignored, or is he confirming the point that Spending Utd FC are buying the league. As mentioned Long F*^k#? Were never going anywhere with that ground, Holbeach didn't want to go anywhere, and St Nits have now stopped spending & entered free fall.
If the quote in the NLP is correct in winging about the Vase exit he stated " Spalding could, should in fact WOULD have gone to Wembley this season" arrogant t t. Was that just in the Vase Pat or did the FA Cup have your name on it to?? Still like he also is alleged to have said "they won't be in the Vase next season. Well Biff as KK once said "I'd f in love it" roll on Sat for which I'm missing my 5 game in 2 seasons, yes I know not very well organised. Got a good feeling about the game though :P

The fact we learned how to set up a new club from the ashes of the old caused by something outside our control, shows how we are NOT living in the past, we are looking to the future. "It's all within budget", well depends how big that is doesn't it? It's definitely higher than Harborough's isn't it? Have your moment of glory Mr Rayment (God knows we've had ours) we'll be watching, waiting & working to catch you up given time, you've had a 90 year start on us and we're ALREADY closing in.
We are coming, resistance is futile ;)

1st point St Neots are not in free fall as you say out of the bottom 3 at the present,2nd point Pat Rayment actually said "we have applied for promotion so this could be our last season in the FA Vase" & i can understand why he is so bitter about being kicked out of the FA Vase.As for "buying the league" as he said its no different what past champions have done as well as a certain club in Northants who are no longer in business .

Very true, but we will not lose tomorrow and will be in with a shout for promotion at the end of the season. The platform that has been set for the future of this new club, will allow us to continue, within budget, for many, many years.
