All isn't well at Corby either - they seem to have forgotten how much charity they have received from the local council, and are threatening to sue them. Talk about "biting the hand that feeds..."

Vauxhall are taking voluntary demotion to Step 5 if I read it right. That's quite a voluntary demotion. More like a reformation without the name change.

Have Eastwood actually folded now then? I knew they were close. I've seen them play this season and they were truly awful. I've seen Hinckley too, so that's two meaningless games i've watched this year.

Our FA Trophy replay against Eastwood was unforgetable despite losing. Their team had the likes of Matt Rhead, Lee Stevenson & Lindon Meikle in it who are now all in the football league.

I don`t think they will ease off for anyone. Was talking to someone last night at the Eynsbury game who watched Spending Utd at Kempston Rovers last Tuesday, he described a ball falling between keeper and central defender 10yds outside the area, defender not getting a call lumped it out for a Kempston throw, the result being. Keeper lays into defender, defender returns with interest, then the Captain lets rip at them both from the halfway line. They were by the way 6up when this happened. His summary of them was "they never let off all game, it was like regardless of the score they had been brainwashed into thinking they were 1-0 down"

Correct, Formic. When they were in financial difficulties back in the early 80's, whilst occupying their old ground in Occupation Road, the Council first started to help them providing ground keeping services free of charge which then extended to building the new facility at Rockingham Triangle for which they paid a 'peppercorn' rent over their tenure.
At times the Football Club have lost sight of the financial assistance that they received over the last 30 odd years from their supportive Council.

Even with a shiny new ground their attendances are awful. Maybe the Council have realised that since no one in the town cares about them, the money could be best utilised elsewhere.

It's now starting to look like finishing 2nd is imperative, only Spending Utd & us applied for promotion, next Tue night is beginning to look like a big one!!! Trust our Club song writers are working on something suitable for our No 1 fan Mr Winston.

Vauxhall are intending to join the West Cheshire League, that's Step 7, same as Northants Combination.

As others have pointed out, it's Step 4 teams who get reprieved and not 2nd placed Step 5 teams that get promoted. 2nd is only for pride, unless the FA have said something different?

Yes Bob that right BUT the FA want Step 1-4 leagues of 22 or 24 so someone has to be promoted from Step 5 to even out the numbers when clubs in Steps 1-4 go bust.
