Bit of credit to LINGEY, he has after all taken endless s it over the past year. Got 2 could have had 4 & involved in lots of good work going forward. I hope that's a large weight off his shoulders & we can now all see what some know he is capable of. I for one have already ordered my
"I WAS THERE WHEN LINGEY SCORED" T shirt.

Of new players only ELJ started yesterday.
It is not inconceivable we start our league season with no new signings in the team.!
Competition for places is going to be pretty intense. Whats the betting 2 or 3 have moved on by Xmas?

Peaksy has a very interesting team selection problem to resolve.

Hopefully we won't have another Nat Liburd-esque situation this season!!!

I reviewed the game for the Radio Diamonds website and look at the selection issues Peaksy has to deal with.

http://www.radiodiamonds.co.uk/

We've seen the whole squad used in various combinations and I'm happy with what I've seen to be honest. We haven't seen a settled side yet but it's often the way at this time of year, partly influenced by injuries and availability.

First selection will be interesting though...especially who plays up front with Dunks (he looks in as good a shape as I've seen since he's been with us) and who plays in the wide positions. Lamb-Johnson has played pretty much every game but Gearing has been impressive too and Ling looks more confident.

I think the back four might be most influenced by injuries/availability with Dolman and Ashton favourite if available, with Brown and Merrill/Henderson, but cover looks good with Hewett/Parkinson and Clarke when fit...and Brad Harris and Sean Mcbride can play in there too.

Dentre mid looks like Bunting plus 1....Confue if fit/available....pushed by Harris and McBride.

I fancy us to be able to win the sort of games we won last year, the key is can we step up to avoid the soft defeats and dropped points that pushed into 3rd....time will tell but I'm liking the shape of the squad.
