Didn't see that coming. I suppose that's what you get for being successful, head hunted.

I hopefully won’t be removed from this ever diminishing forum but let’s be honest is anyone that surprised?? The job Andy has done over the past few years on a pittance of a budget is unbelievable. A permanent top half team on a bottom 6 budget with a board who openly admitted when it last almost happened to being petrified of promotion. So many opportunities have been missed the worst being the fact many in Rushden 4/5 years after the move to Hayden Rd weren’t even aware of it. It’s ironic that I accidentally spent 30 minutes on the phone this morning to one of the Clubs most ardent followers/supporters and it was genuinely sad listening to him talking about the Club. Changes are needed but the one that’s been announced tonight wasn’t one of them. I’ve personally been shafted on more than one occasion by the people who run the Club, and yes despite being told by the Chairman I’m “a different sort of supporter and only here because of the player connection” I do care and have done since 1996 when I first started going to NP with a family member. Andy has taken a fair amount of flack over the years on various occasions but for me other than being to quiet in the dugout everything else about him has been very professional and his loyalty was unquestionably.
All the best in the future Peaksy you will be a hard act to follow. And obviously all the best to Diamonds hopefully in the playoffs and with a bit of luck what’s happened today will rattle a few cages and prompt the sort of leadership reaction the Club undoubtedly needs.

Shock to see the news but as others have said, I suppose not too unexpected with the job he’s done. Like it or not Tamworth are a much bigger club and will be able to back him more.
I’m worried he may snatch a few of our better players in the next few weeks… hopefully I’m wrong.
Thanks for everything Peaksy, a loyal servant who has done amazing things for the club!!

I didn't see that one coming but not surprised. Champs is joining him while Biff Carlin is undecided. Peaksy has been a fantastic servant and an excellent manager and while I am obviously disappointed to lose him i am actually pleased for him because he deserves a bigger club - even one that is below us at the moment.
I also understand that Ty Deacon is the subject pf a 7 day approach from K*ttering and can talk to them as early as tomorrow.
3 questions that need answering?.
1. Who will be the caretaker manage on Saturday. Hopefully Biff Carlin but an important decision for the board.
2. New manager candidates? Arron Parkinson and Chris Nunn will probably be interested but who else?
3. How many AFCR&D players will follow Peaksy to Tamworth?
Saturday's game should be interesting in more ways than one!!!

Couldnt believ it when I herd it. Can respect the manager 4 wot he’s done for the club, but not the man. Peak$y used to criticise players leaving for money, can only assume he’s left 4 the same reason. Team disrupted during a playoff push, and wot if players leave to join him. Board need to shape up or get out. We ave been outfought and outthought by Tamworth and other teams in the market. Losing your manager to a team battling relegation tell us all we need to know! Peak$y I didnt always enjoy the football, I disliked the late substitutions, but I loved the memories.

Top post as ever, Brownie.
Andy has done a splendid job, so good luck to him in his new role.
Perhaps this change might be a catalyst for a club “relaunch” with new faces in the top roles that might promote the much- needed greater local interest. The stagnation in recent seasons has clearly been an effect of COVID, but it has perhaps meant supporters are less tolerant of certain things.

What exactly should the board have done? Given him money we don't have? They've introduced a brilliant initiative in the lottery, which has been used to bring in some quality players who've contributed massively to our playoff push. If you think they're doing that bad a job then I'm sure you'll be putting yourself forward for the next election to show them how it should be done?
