Most people don’t trawl the website regularly for news but are diverted there from other channels such as social media, newsletters etc
That raises an interesting point and perhaps the Club ought to do some research and find out how many people actually bother to visit the OWS?
I for one don't use it,,,,since it was updated,,,it seems messy and cluttered and poor to navigate especially on my phone,,,,,poor design
Same for me, I tried to view a match report, but the sponsorship banner was obscuring it, hence I couldn’t click to view, I had to search google for the match in question and access it that way.

Don't want to be over-critical as i'm sure it would have been put together by volunteers but it's soul destroying to try and navigate. I don't know why it needs to be like this when I'm sure we have volunteers who could help.
I was looking last night to see what admission prices are for this season. I'd challenge anyone to try and locate it. That is surely one of the primary things people will be visiting the site for so they can plan their day before coming, and I'm not even sure it exists.

I have also given up on trying to navigate the website which is simply awful to find anything. I take your point BartonRaz about volunteers but lets be honest the board doesn't have a great track record on the volunteer front with man management skills virtually non-existent!!

Agree you here Raz. Went on the cogenhoe webpage to try and find that big lad centre half we played. Was very easy to use and good on eye, can’t we ask them who did there webpage, night and day difference. Ours looks like one of them pop up pages.
Anyway, we should sign that big lad centre half from cogenhoe thought he was fantastic, cant believe he’s playing at that level

RE the website, the back to top button covers the dark mode button and when it comes to the links from the hover over menus there is a lot of outdated info, also one of the menu links says club twitter account when just above the menu is the list of club social media channels.
The site design itself uses the FC United theme from
ThemeForest which is actually a very nice design, though with a few adjustments to the drop down menus and the pages updating could be a lot easier to navigate.

OK thanks. That slipped past me.
Hopefully no sinister reason for the low profile.
I knew the event was on July 20th - as it was highlighted in the last 2-3 newsletters (before the most recent AGM specific one), and I'd marked in my calendar (initially venue wasn't known early on, though would be either windmill or HR I'd guess ). I understand there is even more info/discussion on the actual members forum too.
Maybe another metric for the stattos is "Does anyone read the newsletter delivered directly to their inbox? Are people missing that too - and only rely on Twitter notifications? "
In April it was stated AGM would be in July (as normal for the AGM - being annual and all) - date TBC. This was stated in the "AFC Rushden & Diamonds seek a new Chair" newsletter/mail.
Once I assume pre-season dates were known (I am guessing), in the June newsletter it confirmed Weds July 20th (which fitted between 2 matches at HR - Northampton and the U23 Chris Ruff Match), and again stated in the 2nd June newsletter I had.
For me these were -
June 13th - "Important notice and voting news for fans and members" stated - Society AGM on Wednesday, July 20th 2022.
June 22nd - "NEW MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS ANNOUNCED" - Meeting of the Society to be held on Wednesday, July 20th 2022.
When I saw the initial post for this thread, I just went to the Membership News section
https://www.afcdiamonds.com/category/membership-news/ - and saw the story there from the week before, which confirmed the original newsletter details and the finalised venue/arrangements - plus there should be the remote Zoom option also for anyone not able to make HR. You can also usually renew on the night in case you are not already a member to make it even more convenient.
On the Website comments that took over the thread - I am sure the volunteers who edit and update the OWS will take on board the constructive criticism of the web site and work that into their plans/updates. There are always improvements that can be made in anything we do

All I can say is, since I started this thread it seems to have stimulated some overdue publicity on various social channels and more people will be aware of this now.
BTW Are we going to be asked to rubberstamp a new chairperson on Wednesday?

I am expecting that to happen. The identity of the individual if indeed there is one has to be the best kept secret since the Queen skydived into the Olympic Stadium or had tea with Paddington.
