No new signings for tomorrow! Burgees just telling us what we wanted to hear on Tuesday after the disaster. Good luck to the supporters going up tomorrow, you’re more optimistic than I am.

It feels like no one is bothered anymore. Maybe after Burg had the 7 dayer the player in question just put the phone down lol who knows.Wobbly Wardley wrote: Fri Sep 30, 2022 4:24 pm No new signings for tomorrow! A player who looks at our results and how the manager threw the players under the bus 2 weeks ago will think to himself 'if I go there and we don't immediately start winning I'll be thrown under the bus too'diamondsteve wrote: Fri Sep 30, 2022 5:32 pmIt feels like no one is bothered anymore. At the minute we are like the Nora Batty of football, we are not desirable to many so we are just having to scrape the barrel and dig out the ones who would otherwise be 'punching' to sign for any other club in this league, like the Compo's of football.

So the manager threw players under a bus, and they went and won at Barwell. Then the manager praised them and they lost against Coalville.
Throw them under the bus I say, we might win a few more

I'd imagine when previous Diamonds managers made 7 day approaches for players they'd already have a firm idea that player would come to us - via informal contacts (whether strictly legal or otherwise). Now we seem to be making many increasingly desperate and frivolous approaches to players. I recall Burge's sales pitch for the manager's job included a more scientific player identification/recruitment policy and improved fitness of the squad (with an investment in tracking vests and a specialist fitness coach). Can we honestly say either strategy is working at all yet?

the fitness side seems to have made us more prone to injuries,,,a thoroughbred will always need attention where a donkey will work untill it drops

Still time to announce Saturday morning. My guess is Billy Sharp and Lee Tomlin.

So who's the signing then as tweeted about 10 hours ago?
