First part of my predictions for today were well and truly shattered by England. Annoying about the Iran goals.

Despite all the shock results, Argentina, Germany, Belgium it still looks as though all the big guns will be in the next round. Only France have won both games (Brazil and Portugal could also). Only Qatar and Canada already out. So plenty of excitement in the final round of matches.

One of the things I have enjoyed so far is all this extra time, fans pay to see 90 minutes of football and a while ago it was reported that the average time the ball spends in play was less than 70 minutes possibly including just 57 at one Premier League game, another good thing about it is when players waste time they are now giving their opponents time to catch their breathe. Belgium have been poor, they play the same way as the Everton team played under Roberto Martinez.

It's 57 minutes on average, not at just one game.

Here's some stats I found:

40:44 Stoke v Watford 17/18
40:47 Cardiff v Burnley 18/19
42:16 QPR v West Ham 14/15
43:12 Sunderland v Leicester 14/15
43:28 Watford v Burnley 19/20

Comfortable win for England. Wales never in the game. Bring on Senegal.
