I would bet good money (other than injured sneds) they'd all be here if we were top🤬

It's about survival this season, preserve everything we can and prepare where we can for next season. Keep your heads up and believe.

I went along tonight having spent this season watching the down fall of the side from a distance. Unable to really comment as I'd not seen it in the flesh.

To be fair I thought we did alright in turning the ball over in the middle and we defended "ok" for the majority and the new keeper Marcimain looked good.

However beyond that it was pretty woeful. Attacking threat in the final third was non existent. Now don't get me wrong it is always going to be hard with constant upheaval of players due to departures/ injuries and availability etc but we just seemed to win the ball in the middle and straight away launch it high and long into the strikers? Why? That's Sunday league stuff.
How can you ever expect to dictate a game in an attacking sense if you just turn the ball over straight away having just won possession? In the rare moments we did look to stop, pick a pass and use the ball on the ground down the channels we looked ok. But that only happened twice maybe three times in the game.

Perhaps it's an experience thing (the average age of the side must be 19/20), then that is further compounded by confidence no doubt being through the floor. But if you can't manage to do those kind of things you will never score. So the best you can hope for from the get go is 0-0.

The harsh reality is we have just been beaten comfortably by a pretty poor Needham side, and their keeper has gone home with a clean kit. I won't critisise the players effort tonight as I certainly don't think they downed tools at any stage. Sadly it just appears the tools at Chris' disposal aren't up to the level required, but I'm sure we all knew that already.

Fair play to those who travelled down from Northants tonight. Based on tonight though doing that journey in reverse to come and watch us for a few games at Hayden Road before the season is over is going to be a hard sell for me. I'll just keep playing the lottery and buy a jacket from the club shop instead to make up for my rubbish support this season.

I'm sure Chris will already have one eye on next season, along with the board. It's going to be a case of 1 step back to hopefully go 2 steps forward in the not too distant future.

I think realistically if we had any chance of pulling off a miracle, last night against an out of form team was a good opportunity and probably a vital one. Even then as I mentioned the other day we would be having to hope other teams slip up almost every week and luck hasn't been on our side for ages so the likeliness of that happening was slim.

After we beat St Ives on new years Chris Nunn said something like he would rather lose trying to win than lose trying to get a point, since then we have signed a few more of his own players but have been playing with one up front which doesn't fit in with preferring to lose while trying to win. It feels like the last few games were so important to get something out of that I would have been happy to go 2 or 3 up front and lose 3-2 than go with 1 up front.

But I'm not a manager so if we did go 2 up front and threw away a lead I would probably have spent the weekend thinking god if only we had switched to 1 up front we may have got a vital point. This is why I trust what Chris is trying to do because it's one of those that you are damned if you do and damned if you don't and he has been doing it for years.
  • Play it out from the back.
  • 1 up front.
  • Man gets one good result via a new manager bounce and thinks he's Pep Guardiola.

Was good to hear some positive news on the subject of a new home on Radio Diamonds, although I should have worded my question differently!! Rather than “When or If, we get a new home” should just have been “when we get a new home” as Rob rightly corrected me!
