Great to get the win, even if it was only on penalties. Agree with Fentiger that we were the best side in the first half, and Corby were in the second.
Last season we probably would have lost that game in the last 20 minutes.

Big win that

We look a big strong side who's more than happy to mix it. Don't want to get to carried away but a great marker to see where we're at against a very much fancied corby team. Loads of positives all over the pitch. Huge well done to MH & Porter with some good recruitment on a tight budget. Be great to get 500 plus in HR on sat and fingers crossed for 3 points.

Only 2 games in and the first time I’ve been this season but if Corby are a fancied team and Diamonds are rebuilding after a dreadful last season on a small budget I’d suggest Diamonds have much to be optimistic about and Corby don’t.
Main difference from games I watched last season was size and strength throughout the team, this level you need to be able to mix it at times and those on the pitch last night not only looked capable if required but were willing to do so. Mixed in with some decent football at times hopefully last season really is history now and this is the start of a fairly rapid rebuild.
A bit of welcome revenue and more to come and I’m sure if a decent start is made to the league campaign 500+ can be expected for home games.
Nice to see so many familiar faces, hopefully I’ll get over a few times during the year but all the best for season ahead.

A big thank you to Radio Diamonds. I was driving down to Sussex and my partner was in control of the phone all evening. Great atmosphere, mainly from Corby fans, and Joseph and Jamie captured the mood right from the start. Would you believe it, the sound cut out just as Johnson missed his penalty so I missed the final kick.! Towards the end of the game over 200 tuned in to RD. A great night and let's hope for a few more this season.

As an armchair fan, as I will be for a lot of this season sadly, the first thing I have to do is a massive shoutout to Joseph and Jamie for the awesome coverage on Radio Diamonds, we're so lucky to have these guys and the quality of the commentary is amazing, very professional. The tension they built up made me almost feel like I was there - very grateful for what you do guys!
Fantastic result, well done to all the lads and management for crafting that - when Corby scored I thought "oh no, here we go" - but when Jamal scored (hopefully my hearing will be back by Saturday
(Joseph!!!!)), it made me think that these lads of ours are really up for the fight this season. I'd managed to get to the Barton friendly and noticed how much more physical we look and as Brownie said, we're not just a bigger side, but the lads are up for a battle too - love that about them! Corby are one of the fancied sides this year and we've stood toe to toe with them twice now and not been found wanting. Not getting ahead of myself, but the confidence and belief should be flowing through the boys now, and optimism amongst the fans!
Fingers crossed I'll be able to make the Lye match at the weekend, so will be able to see first hand what I hope will be our first league win.

Went to the game Saturday, but couldn't make the replay last night, but I'd echo what's been said on here so far. Team look big and strong, pretty much all over 6ft? Look like a team of men, not boys with some quality thrown in too. Back 4/5 look really strong, and quality up top looks great - Jamal looks like a proper striker doesn't he? No doubt that we'll be able to compete in this league this season. Let's hope for a decent start Saturday!

First time we've won an FA cup tie in nearly 6 years, what a night, if a long one!
Fantastic showing from all the team, the league season hasn't even started and already I see a team playing well together, we have been organised, hardworking, strong, a far cry from the naive and inexperienced teams we started the last two seasons with.
And to shut the Corby kids up at the end of the night made it even sweeter, hopefully we can actually have a cup run this year and not to mention the financial rewards we'd get in gate receipts and prize money.

I was looking at the prize fund on the FA website, a long way to go, but if we can make it to the first round proper we would get £23,194 in total for getting there.Olly wrote: Wed Aug 07, 2024 4:08 pm First time we've won an FA cup tie in nearly 6 years, what a night, if a long one!
