We played there at U13 first game of the season, won 4-1, there is terracing both sides of the main stand, four or five steps high. There is also terracing behind one of the goals, but the netting to stop the balls flying into peoples gardens cuts out some of that. There is loads of room behind the other goal, albeit flat, probably three quarters the size of the River End at the D&D. The side opposite the main stand has the seating area and the dugout so space is a bit limited there but not too bad.
It won't matter anyway because Ralph is building a Jumbotron in his lunchtime for Chas to put on the cricket pitch to feed Jon's fliming. Rumours that it will be following the Duke and Pigman round the hostelries of Rushden & Higham are unconfirmed.

Re: [ Sat 6th Oct ] v Rushden & Higham Utd KO 3pm AWAY
I haven't been to Hayden Road for a few years now. I think the last time I went was when my brother was playing for the Rushden Rangers U18s when Stuart Brown was manager.
I remember attending a birthday party there many many years ago, I'm sure I remember the social club led to the pitch, but my memories are very vague, I could have only been 10 or 11 at the time.
I'm sure I remember reading somewhere, that they were planning to rebuild the stand, but obviously they didn't have the funds available.
Am really looking forward to the game on Saturday, and hopefully a big win, and the forecast is predicting a sunny day

Some advice was posted on the members forum which I'm going to try:-corby diamond wrote:Where is the best place to park, ain't familiar with this place in the slightest, cheers
"There is parking for a considerable number of cars in Hove Road (one up, or down from Hayden Road depending on travel direction). Normally during school days teaching staff park on both sides of the road almost immediately from the entrance to Hove Road. There is also plenty of parking on both sides of the road round the corner and upto the houses. I have spoken (in an unofficial capacity to Wicksteed Engineering) and the view was that you can double park outside of their premises (which have a long frontage) on both the public highway AND the grass/pebble area immediately in front of their premises. They do not operate on a Saturday so no problem with blocking entrances etc.
There is a short cut by way of a public footpath in the corner opposite the shop which leads directly opposite the football ground in Hayden Road."

Haven't been to Hayden Road this season, but last year the only way in was through the social club, paying at a table in the corner of the room, this caused a bit of a queue even with only 50 or 60 in attendance. I think I read that they are opening up another entrance for tomorrow from the cricket club side, where parking is also available for £2.

There's another entrance just past the main stand as you walk up Hayden Road, and in thier shoes I would be opening the double gates at the top end.
