I could think of many words to describe this season but boring isn't one of them. If anything I've had more fun watching football this season than I've had in a decade.
I've enjoyed going to places like Harrowby and Bourne, places I never would have gone to if I wasn't following Diamonds, and I've enjoyed winning games. The atmosphere in the De Banke is awesome, there's a real community spirit and siege mentality throughout the whole club, and I feel like I know the players. It's been fantastic.
The ONLY thing I'm not looking forward to next season is the games like Thrapston, ON Chenecks and Buckingham - where the opposition is so useless the game is a total non-event.

That's kind of what I was referring to. There are too many games where teams just come and play for a draw (even though there's no relegation) so the outcome is either a boring 1-0 win or a pasting when the game's over after half an hour. I'd just like a few more competitive sides, who don't just produce when they play us... When we made the playoffs in 2010, thrashing sides was exciting because you knew they weren't pushovers. I don't find these thrashings exciting.BartonRaz wrote:The ONLY thing I'm not looking forward to next season is the games like Thrapston, ON Chenecks and Buckingham - where the opposition is so useless the game is a total non-event.

Well, it was a very long day yesterday for me, but enjoyed every minute of it. I felt that after Deaks' got sent off, we would go on to lose by 2 or 3. But massive credit to the lads, who fought for everything, and created the better chances throughout the game.
It was a performance full of determination, concentration, and heart; I can only thank and praise the lads for that. My personal MOM would've gone to McBride, who was immense in the middle of the park (especially in the second half), but that's not a discredit to the rest of the lads, who were all brilliant. The atmosphere in the De Banke was superb as always; sheer pandemonium after both goals, especially after Kingy's, where (for me), there was a split second after the ball hit the net down the far end to realise that he'd actually scored, and then of course, it went absolutely bonkers on the terrace. We could and maybe should have won it, but considering we were down to 10 men for the majority of the game against good opposition, it was a terrific effort by the lads. Didn't get home till 10pm, but I was still smiling as I walked through my front door.

Cant believe that some of you have written the season off when you are 2nd in the league & still have 12? games left to play, remember you are a new club who done very well but it was never a given that you would win promotion this season but it isn't all over yet by a long chalk
