Just checked Martin Carruthers playing history. It appears he's older than Hopey.
He could be described as 'well travelled'. ;)

I did try to highlight this in the match preview -
http://www.afcdiamonds.com/afc-rushden- ... ord-united (and also put a mention in the match report on our official website too), but perhaps people prefer getting their information elsewhere.

I really must study your previews, Tony.
Interesting to see that he played for Villa in the top flight and although at Scunny, Hopey had already left to play for the Gills. He still looks useful for this level.

Great result. I'm hoping for an away game in the midlands section: lots of potential teams that are very easy for me to get to, Causeway, Wolfrunians, Gornal, Sutton, Walsall Wood. Fingers crossed.

I really wanted St. Austell too :( I'd take St. Blazey though...reckon I'd be one of an away contingent that didn't pass single figures.
I would be there too, Bodmin would be ok also. Are you a Cornish fan too?
Based in Exeter, not sure if that qualifies as Cornish

I'd be happy with Southend Manor at home, we'd show them proper hospitality unlike a certain other club!!

I agree that the attacking display was the best I've seen all season. Some lovely movement and passing from the front two in the last 15 - 20 minutes of the first half was devastating. At the back, we concede yet another set piece headed goal, but I do think that Deakin & Hopey are still settling down and improving as a pair. Too many crosses from out wide were allowed as well, our fullback must keep players turned away and moving away from the by-line. Great game though from both sides and well worth £5.

Wellingborough appear to be away to Long Buckby on December 8th, with no midweek league game scheduled for Tuesday 11th, in the event of a replay.
No worries of a clash if we are drawn at home, at least.
