I bow down to all the hours all the board and volunteers puts into the club to make it a success...
What I said/meant (although on reflection it could have been written better) is that it sometimes seems that everyone against us - i.e. that after a game where the ref has made some decision which were hotly debated and various people both in person and on the internet say negative things it's easy to let yourself feel that everyone is against AFC R&D.

In reality of course there are some people at other clubs who are pro-AFC R&D, some who are neutral/ambivalent and some who are anti-AFC R&D - that's just football and it's the same for every club, new or old, large or small. The problem as always is that he who shouts loudest gets heard and it's part of human nature that one loudly-voiced negative opinion can drown out a hundred positive ones.

Anyway - I vote we all draw a line under things and look forward to Saturday where we could potentially take another big step towards promotion. Cross everything!

Corby Diamond unfortunately AndyKirkup is right... people will have an issue with us as a club regardless of a few morons or not however 'incidents' like on Tuesday certainly add fuel to the fire and dont help our cause. At the end of the day other clubs and individuals are jealous of our clubs success and terrific attendances so naturally we will be disliked.

The last thing i will say about Tuesdays 'incidents' is that yes they were unwanted but the reaction has been massively over the top by many. The liquid incident is unacceptable without question, as for a few beered up kids running on the pitch it is a pain in the arse for volunteer stewards etc but they were not looking for confrontation or to cause trouble. Anyway they wont be a big loss to the club when they are banned as they only attend a couple of games a season at the most!

Anyway our thoughts should be now focused on Saturday :D Roll on the end of the working week!!!

Think we got wires crossed, i read that as afc fans on this forum who are always bringing up the negatives, instead what AndyKirkup was reffering to was outsiders and different clubs... Oops :D

But totally agree, bring on saturday!!!

The lad I took with me who hadn't been to a game in about 5/6 years enjoyed it so much he's coming to Potton on Saturday.

It was a gripping game, scary & frustrating for so long, ecstatic for a short while then gutting at the end. It's been an awesome first season, we have 1 home game and we could remain unbeaten in the league all season there. I don't ever remember that happening before, even with I'boro Diamonds. What an end to the season, 3 games to glory and at the first attempt - I'd have taken that in August last year. The pressure is also on the chasers to win all of their games.
Come on you Diamonds, let's go make history.

The thought the game was a great game. A shame a shocking ref reckon it the game and at the end. I give the ref a few words at the end.

Even though we are a new club, its still the same old problems which are causing issues; it would appear its woven into the clubs DNA.

The last time I checked the Diamonds were a Football club and not some sort of elite social club were everybody has to be of a certain maturity.

You are going to get stupid people turn up who do stupid things just like EVERY other football club in the country even if we are branded as a "Community Club".

The facts are simple, and I know this from doing it myself; the younger generation like a drink at the football.

Some of my best days following the Diamonds involved vast amounts of alcohol. If I had to pick my top ten Diamonds stories 9 of them would probably involve drunken behaviour.

There is no way you can stop it, I've seen stupid people doing stupid things whilst drunk following the Diamonds be equally I've seen stupid people do stupid things in the Pavilion at Lords because they were drunk.

When I was 19, 20 , 21, every away game ended in some sort of farce, the stories I can still recall today; its part of the game, it'll be part of AFC Diamonds too; I just wish some people would stop throwing their toys out of the pram every time something happens.

Throwing tea or beer at a player is crossing the line but a drunken run across a football pitch after a goal is a right of passage

Stalin, you certainly got it right in saying that throwing tea crosses the line, and your also right when young ones like a drink. I think if the little boys having a moment was the only incident to occur than this topic would be 7 pages instead of 14 and most of the people would say tut tut and forget about it quicker...
