Not getting carried away here, but I've just looked at the Round dates and realised the First Round Proper is the 9th November ............... my wife's birthday, and its a "special" one, weekend away all booked up etc. I thought I'd had a real result as it was the date we were due to play Woodford, so I looked to the heavens and said "thank you god" as we had a free weekend !!

Knowing my luck we'll go all the way now and I'll miss out - but wouldn't it be oh so fantastic if we did !! :D

Good call - they were in league 1 at that point.

League 1, I think they were also in the top half dozen at the time so two divisions higher than RDFC.

I know yesterday was more about glory than money but we've now won £10,925 in prize money in our FA Cup run too date. That's just under £500 per goal scored! ;)

And half the gate money from 6 decent crowds. Treasurers smile was the full ear to ear yesterday and possibly still is this morning.
PS The next 2 rounds are £7500 & £12500

No he hadn't been his best for the 30 mins prior to the goal but that's Kingy & always will be. Still at least in NLP he got a 7. Mrs B has just read report & noticed our left back got a 6 :o lowest mark of the starting 11, last seen going into the garage with a clay doll & a big pot of pins

Wow.

Simply wow. The sheer willpower and ability to dig in against a technically superior team was something else, and I also thought the way we took the game to them in the first half hour, and to completely dominate those early exchanges, was nothing short of sensational.

Thought we might rue those missed chances (Alfie's header saved, Faz smuggling a throw in just wide, Nat's effort deflected over) when they scored with probably their only 2 chances of the first half, but the missed penalty was clearly the pivotal moment in the game; that goes in, and we're all but out.
But the performance from the lads after that miss was special. Credit to Kingy for busting out another exocet just when it was needed, and to be honest, I'd have taken a replay there and then, as the pass and movement of their front players did worry me.

Then of course, THAT goal. Credit t Lance for his wonderful lazy run, and to Dunks for having the nouse and coolness to pull it across to Alfie. From my view down at the PDB, I thought he'd missed. Then the sheer eruption that followed told me he hadn't! :D Those ensuing scenes will stay with me for a very long time, that's for sure!!

So, so proud of our club right about now!

The non-league paper has managed to get Mal's pics in three different places - including the front page and the results page. They've done well to get most of the attendances too - our looks to be in the top 5 at least - with Stockport and AFC Telford getting over 1000.

Now my voice is just about recovering I will now post...

In every post I did yesterday I seemed to be quite confident as very few did, I knew we wouldn't produce an 8-0 or anything but had every confidence that it could be done? And why couldn't it? So what they are a step 3 club, that means nothing in the fa cup...

I thought for the first half hour, and even when they equalised that the lads were in control, and even at 2-1 down, thought that if we forced an equaliser then it could be done in the 90minutes or in the replay...Cambridge wasn't convincing yesterday and I cant see why people believe they were. Yes they had spells of possession but in front of goal they simply done nothing...

Kings goal was excellent, and the roar that went up after alfies goal will stay with me for a long time :D Glad I staked £20, £100 back cant be bad

Shame their couldn't be a more confident attitude, at half time there was even #concentratingontheleague

And one more thing...Underdogs, what the f*ck are they?????
