Three players with Diamonds connections helped Long Buckby claim the UCL Premier title today - Darren Watts, Fazel Koriya (ex-Triallist) and Russ Dunkley (ex-Youth team) - with Tim Wooding amongst the coaching staff.

Dunkley is an excellent player at that level, he has averaged a goal a game and he holds the ball up really well and creates chances for others.

I agree - he wins an awful lot in the air too, often against taller defenders.

.....and Dunkley is also on a big fat weekly `wage` at Buckby too, in common with the majority of their players.
Shame they didn`t spend a bit of that money on the ground!

I'm glad they beat Lynn to the title although it all seems a bit pointless given that they can't go up due to how bad that ground is. I don't suppose they feel that they need to improve facilities given that their crowds consist of one man and his dog

Where does all Long Buckby's money come from to pay all players a fat wedge at this lowly standard of football?
Is it a rich benefactor on an ego trip? If so, what's the point if the ground isn't being upgraded meaning the prospect of the club playing at a higher level is non-existent.
