I'm more than a little fished off ( ;) ), must be so demoralising for the players. Roll on Southport, I guess, maybe this drama will somehow lead to a bigger attendence.
Hopefully The Ricky Gervais Show will cheer me up.

It's a shame tho, knowing our luck we will go back for the re match and loose.... Owell it's non-league football for you.

Since the Tamworth game up until the Luton match, we will have played 11 games, 9 of them at home!

I've included my crude camera-phone view of the conditions (with apologies to Red Snapper) in the Match Report

Just got back. There is no doubt the game should have been able to have finish, the fog wasn't getting any worse and it didn't seem to cause any of the players difficulty. Admittedly we couldn't see the action at the far end. On the plus side we played some excellent stuff in the first half and Power's free kick was a peach. Great, another visit to that shithole

You just want too go in the bar again with all your new fishy friends especially the one with the large hooter!!!
Anyway!!!!!!!
Positives, we played awesome first half, the sending off actually stopped some of our momentum so that had nothing too do with our dominance, one of the best free kicks i've ever seen by a diamonds player was literally inch perfect, no keeper would of saved it!! Top celebration too he came sliding towards us away fans and most the other lads came over and joined in!!
Great header too for our second.
Didn't see penalty decision (because of fog not doing a wenger!!!)
I Won't talk about the decision too call the game off cuz i need my beauty sleep and would be here all night but it was disgraceful and i don't think i want too go back on a possible thursday night!!

There is no way that game should of been called off when it did last night, the conditions had got no worse since about 15 minutes in. To come back out after half time and then call it off 5 minutes in , when the conditions had got no worse was ludicrous. Quality freekick from Power was unstoppable. Had no idea he ahd even given a penalty until about 10 seconds before it was taken! Really good first half performance (well what I could see of it!) from the lads, so take the many positives from the game and roll on Southport.

You must have been drunk, because even with the fog it was quite clear to see that the second goal was a curling right foot shot into the corner!
The fog was terrible, the worst I've ever seen at a game (excluding a Maunsell Cup Final against the Posh a few years ago when you couldn't see the Airwair from the half way line, although it only got that bad after extra time had finished and penalties were being taken). However, it was no worse when the ref eventually abandoned the game than it was after about 25 minutes. The fog kept coming in waves, there would be a couple of minutes where you could only just see the goal at the opposite end of the ground, and then a couple of minutes where it would clear slightly and you could make out the stand and advertising boards behind it. We stuck around until almost 9.30 and the conditions were still exactly the same then.
I don't have any issue with the game being abandoned due to the fog (if that was the only reason), what was ridiculous though was why it handled. If it was going to be called off it should have been done in the first half. The ref then delayed the start of the second half by more than 5 minutes for goodness knows what reason, and when it did start he stopped twice to have a chat with various people on the touch line (one of those occasions was when the lino broke his flag, but he still stopped for a chat while getting a new one). We were told by a couple of stewards afterwards that the decision to stop the game was actually made by Uriah Rennie who was the officials' assessor.
A couple of minutes before it was abandoned though, an announcement was made over the tannoy asking all fans to return to their original seats, as large groups of Grimsby supporters had made their way up to the end that they were now attacking. Stewards remonstrated with them for several minutes but to no avail. We were then told by someone from GTFC that the abandonment was advised by their safety officer on grounds of supporter safety, because of the actions of their fans. If this is the case (and I don't know that it is for certain, it's only rumour at the moment) then surely Grimsby should forfeit the points?
I don't actually expect that to happen even if it was the action of their supporters that caused the abandonment, but I'm sure we haven't heard the last of this.
