Gordon's Gaff..............."The bigotted WOO MAN"

Come on Gordon, people will say you are a BOOOOOOLEY next! Ooops they already have!
A complete cock up today. I think the fallout will be quite damaging. God knows how that came about.

Anyway on another point, it might be worth dropping the bits in that your criticisms of Brown include the fact he's Scottish (like the one above), since they make them sound quite bigoted as well.

Shame Gordon totally fecked up today with that stupid comment, cause until now this was a very intrested and quite close election. Think that may have just ended the dream of '5 more years of Gordon'

Anyway to the actual election itself,as a first time voter the tv debates have really helped me personally choose who I want to vote for as all my mums said of the family are labour and all my dads side are tory, but I always sided with Labour. Reading and hearing things not just during this election but from other places what the leaders of the main 3 have said in the past really has help aswell, and when reading and watching them I look for issuse's that maybe not everyone feels strongly about or even cares about but I do so I've been looking how the parties treat these issuse's (If I was to vote purely on this bases then I would be voting for Labour hands down)

For personal reasons aswell i will never ever vote the Torries (sorry dad) but at the moment a vote for labour really does just feel like a wasted vote so I'm very confussed :?

I agree that this election is a difficult decision. ( By the way Woody, I too had you down as a dyed in the wool Tory from your previous posts    ).

Until New Labour won with Tony Blair my choice was very easy. I have strongly disliked the policies of Margarett Thatcher and her conservative succesors over the years, and every election hoped against hope for a labour victory. I hated way the Tories sold off every one of the country's assets that were not tied down. I hated the way that public services were subcontracted out to private companies ( who's prime objective is to line the pockets of their share holders ). I particularly disliked the way people were encouraged to take out private pensions rather than relying on the state pension, but providing no assurance against these private schemes turning to dust after you've paid into them all of your life. Surely a state run pension with no share holders to pay should be able to do a better job more cheaply than a private company. They sold off school playing fields to bring in short term money, sending a great message to Britain's increasingly obese population.

So, up to Tony Blair my decision was easy.

Tony seemed OK to begin with, but I increasingly felt that he was a Tory in labour clothing. Labour allowed the banks and the city to get out of control, they allowed a boom to be fueled by rocketing personal debt. They have not tried to redress the decline of UK manufacturing seen under Mrs T. They have done good things putting money into the health service and into education, but I am not convinced that the money was always well spent. To cap it all, he got the UK tro fight a dubious war in Iraq.

Little wonder that I could not bring myself to vote Tory, but have been disapointed by Labour. For me the Lib Dems are too much of an unknown quantity. Maybe a coalition of labour and LibDems would be the best result for me !!
