What I don't get, it not so long ago, we took 2500 to Chester, over a 1000 to Halifax, 1500 to orient, 1500 york etc, got over 3500 home fans ever game. These numbers where only 5 years ago or so, so where have they all gone. Surely at least some would come back for such big games.
I just don't get it, and its quite sad really.

We were winning comfortably back and then were pretty much buying ourselves up the league. Now we have to work for it and people don't like it.

I quite agree, we really should be able to sell out IMO. Im not sure what more the club or team can do to entice people  .
This has got me thinking about old users on RDFCNET etc. Whatever happened to ****** (After the Cheltenham incident)? Belly10/TommyJohnson? Do they still go to games?
Anyone else remember any others on the old forums who used to attend regulary?

Have to admit I was very disappointed with only 2200 home fans last night, considering we got more in regular games when we were in league 2 and even when we were in the conference last time! New people that hadn't been for years were there but I really thought there'd be more than that. Although I'm really pleased that we'll have around 1200 there, considering that for over half of our games this season, we had less home fans than that, we haven't taken that many away since the first Wobblers derby so I'm happy that we'll just about fill the allocation tbh.

I'm really surprised we haven't sold out for Monday (yet).....with everything still to play for, we've nothing to lose and it will be a belter of a game in a decent and welcoming ground. I'm wondering whether the fact that it's a bank holiday has had any effect on numbers going?

250 remaining then and just tomorrow morning (10am to 1pm) to buy them - we're not going to sell them out are we?
What does the club have to do to tempt people to come and support them???? I know people are skint, but this is the 2nd leg of a finely poised semi-final, we should have sold 1309 tickets easily - a very disappointing showing by the people of Rushden and Irthlingborough to be honest, the locals really couldn't give a shit could they??
I hear people saying we'd take 10k to W IF we get there, 3-4000 tops, probably nearer 2500..........not that it matters, but just a shame that the locals haven't got caught up in the "cup fever" !!
It is very disappointing. The turnout last night was disappointing too. Even when we were doing badly under Tippett and Hunter in League 2 we were still getting a steady 2500 or so home fans. I guess the Hart and Hill era were just too much to bear for a lot of people.
I can;t imagine it helps when players and management have to consider their contracts if it's clear the potential for growth is going to be hampered by local apathy.

I'm over the moon at this amount, and I guess i'm not the only person that is. I predicted 650 after some of the sh*t turnouts this year.
I hope they don't enforce the allocated seats though, that'll ruin the atmosphere. Another reason being people that want to stand will head up to the back, hopefully they use common sense...

How fickle. :?
Then again he's not the only one. Wonder if Gems still watches Luton, or if he buggered off after they came down.

I didnt know him personally or anything but by the way he used to talk on the forum he gave that 'rushden til i die' attitude. Suppose its better than being a Luton fan :? Can't quite understand how you can just stop supporting your team and 'support' another!?
