The novely of that song has worn off big time. Either the fact we've done it for about 17 games straight, or the fact it's more mumbled than sung has done it. Leave it for when we're cruising.

Stuart, your opinion doesn't count.

Agreed, it's now become a Rushden tradition. I was pissed off big time with the idiots who kept interrupting it last night, but we still got through it all! ;)

I would like to start this by clarifying that i am NOT having a go at anyone on here, BUT the person i saw who was mainly shouting to try and stop this song, was someone who i had not seen before. Now i know i don't get to as many games as i would like to, (how selfish of uni to be during the footy season ;) ) but i tend to know a lot of faces of people who go regularly home and away, and when i asked my mate, this guy was one of the 'older' guard, with NN10 mentioned. Now i have no problem with these guys turning up, far from it, but at least if you only turn up for the big games, at least have the decency to not crticism the songs?! Fair enough for all those of you who go when you can, i personally like it but I can see why people don't.

Sorry that's a bit of a rant just to say, i like the song and we should keep it imo

If it's who i think you mean, then i've seen him at most home games this season.

I'm with Stuart (or whoever it was that said they like it).....it's very disappointing when the opposition's keeper IS no 1 - we've had some great fun singing it and had sone fantastic banter with some of the keepers it's aimed at. Should go down in the RDFC history books IMHO ;)

I think i know who you mean, and its not who i meant. It just comes down to which one of us is the better mind reader

To an extent its almost irrelevant anyway. Apologies to that guy if i'm wrong, but i still think that those who don't attend much should have a little more patience with those that do attend, and are always committed to making as much noise for the team (you know who you are ;) )

i was one of the people trying to sing other songs

i just dont think it helps the team...

they go in 1-0 down and have a rousing team talk to get them in the right frame of mind to come out all guns blazing i think we need to be supporting the players on the pitch as 1 terrace..
i know quite a few people who dont like the song, so wont sing it!
your now left with a few people singing it and everyone else waiting till your finished so we can get behind the lads and push us on.

it wasnt a case of 'not been in ages and wont let regulars sing their song' attitude ....more ... 'been comming all season...... think the song was funny at first .....but its wearing a bit thin now.....always like to show the team we are behind them at the start of the second half.......its a big game .........its gonna take 5 mins to sing all those numbers..... f*** this...... COME ON YOU WHITES!!! ........attitude!
WHEN I SANG RUSHDEN TILL I DIE I MENT IT! LONG LIVE THE AFC...

And as i said, nothing against that! I personally like the song, but i can see why others don't!

Interestingly, we keep saying we are a second half side, and we tend to sing this song at the start of most second halfs...is there something in that? I can remember once, no idea which game, when it seemed we were a bit flat after half time, and conceeded whilst singing this song. I wonder how much of an influence it plays...

It was Crawley at home, and we conceeded just after we finished the song. Had it gone on a bit longer I'm sure we wouldn't have conceeded! ;)

It demoralises the keeper :)
