The problem is that it's been tracked to the same Cambridge fan who has been going on about it since January, not multiple fans. Dale is on the retained list, and unless someone puts a bid in, I seriously doubt we will sign another keeper.

Darius Charles would be an amazing gain should we be able to get him on budget.

Elder would be a poor signing I think. Shrewsbury would let him go for free, but his wage demands would be high above what he deserves (a packet of crisps a week and a mars bar per goal). I don't think he'd offer an improvement on what we have so better off looking elsewhere.

Tubbs signed a new deal with Salisbury, and they wouldn't let him go without a fee. He has a decent record but has never impressed me.

If we want a big awkward lump up front Kiddy have released Mathews who is a bit of a handful (and surely can't be worse than Cliff or Jeff in that role), and started the season at Salisbury. Kiddy also released Knights, who didn't look too bad against us, but apparently went missing a lot for them.

No idea on his footing, and I imainge he will want more money than we want to offer him, but Luke Foster has been released by Mansfield after joining them in January. No dobut Cambridge (who were in for him before) will be offering something too.
