As I mentioned earlier, WE didn't call the game off, it wasn't the Club's decision to make...

From the OWS - "Local referee Andy Tonks carried out a pitch inspection at 11.00am and declared the game off."

Rushden Community College is their school of the day today and the children who go there got free tickets (and accompanying adults and siblings were offered reduced price tickets too)....Matt and Katie asked if they could have tickets for the away end but when they were told they couldn't they declined the offer of a free ticket  ;)

Why didn't diamonds offer free tickets to a Rushden school? What is going on here?

A very good question Coltrane. By the time I became aware of it, it was too late for the Club to do anything but I have made them aware of it anyway. It's worth noting that NTFC Football in the Community is also running football courses at Rushden Community College for years 5, 6 and 7 as part of their transition process. A big opportunity missed IMO

to be fair its only a bit of rain so god knows why it wasnt on + your exactly gonna slip and injure yourself  but we have another home game on tuesday so they proberly wanted that game to be on to and not have the pitch turned into a mudbath.

Why would the referee care about our next game?

Maybe the club didn't do anything to get the game on because they were thinking of the bumper crowd on Tuesday night? :?

Coltrane if you honestly think that the club are going to sacrifice a home game with a Saturday 3pm kick off for a Tuesday night game with Champions League football on you really are brain dead. A local ref chose to call the game off, we therefore have no choice but to accept the decision.
