Before I type this, please note that this is purely my opinion and I have absolutely no relevant qualifications and only a certain amount of relevant experience which qualifies me to make these remarks.... but:
When the heck are the club going to realise that making money out of matchdays isn't purely down to ticket price? If you knock a few quid off the entry fee in order to attract a couple of hundred more people you will easily make that money back from Strikers + Kimberley suite + snack bars + parking + programs + sale sof merchandise etc. etc.
That said, if it
doesn't attaract more people, e.g. K*tt*ring, then they are really screwed and maybe this is what they are scared of. I think ultimately though, ours is exactly the kind of modern, exciting club that is geared to make these revenue streams work whereas K*ttering is a bit more of a 'bovril and freezing cold rain blowing in your face' club, so I don't believe that such fears are justified.
I actually wrote to KC on this subject at the start of the season and suggested that a unilateral adult price of £13 to get 'bums on seats' would be a good idea. I didn't get a reply though

Was it Mansfield last year who only charged a fiver for one match, or was it free and completly sold out, this way you might get a lot of repeat buisness and also you sell a lot more beer, programmes etc and parking fees , would this be an idea for one game i wonder ?

It was Mansfield who did a free entry game and got 7000. Wrexham of course also did it as well at the end of the season for the game against us when they had nothing to play for and also got a much higheer attendance and I think its an excellent idea that if we can get to work (i.e. have the right marketing and publicity for it), could be beneficial in the long term in attracting new support and as you say we'd certainly make decent money in terms of all the other income we the club makes through matchdays.

I agree. Incidently it is illegal to charge the same for standing as for seating in the League - Standing must be at least 10% cheaper than seating. I don't envy the club's situation but I really hope the new owners work to get this ruling overturned which I do believe is stopping a few newcomers coming to see what we're about.

eastbourne are cutting prices for last few games for kids and that.
I think we should do it for are last few games, cut adult prices to like 12/13pound like K*ttering did.
just think its ridiculas that with how much we (adults) have to pay , u16s can watch 3 bloody games for that basically. :|

It's a bad time to turn 17 :lol: :lol: I used to pay £6 a match, now I've paid £51 in a week.

I would have been there but unfortunately I owe a £100,000 out to my mortgage company and therefore I need to work some evenings. I hate it when people assume their OWN reasons for low attendances. Its freezing cold, people work/babysit their kids while their partners work. There are a hundred other reasons for low attendances, not just financial.

Why would I buy an adult season ticket when i'm entitled to a concession? That doesn't make any sense. A donation to the club? Nope, that doesn't make sense either. You've got more faces than Janine Butcher in that post.
Clearly I meant home games. I realise that you are not the 'brightest bulb in the box' - perhaps i should have made myself clearer.
In the match thread you stated that you didn't go tonight because £17 was too much (or to be more precise - "I will not pay that amount to watch non-league football"), not because of the way it was implemented. Why the change of heart?
You don't need to thank me for replying every time.
