Of that 500k, how much is reserved for the Shareholders bubbly?

At Uni we had a few of us discussion the share situation at FC Utd - and were iterested in grouping up to own a bit. Now I know about this, I'll try and persuade them. Is there a limit of so many shares per person?

I wouldn't have thought so. For example, I don't think the club would stop you if you put together enough money to buy the lot! :)

The shares will be priced at 1p each, but for each share you have to make a donation of 49p on top which will somehow get around us having to pay tax on the shares (or less tax, at least). The shares are then sold in blocks of 20 i.e. £10 per block with the donations.

500 grand for the club if we can shift all 1,000,000 shares!
This doesn't value the club as a whole very high at all, if each share is worth 1p and forget the 49p then 100% of the Club would be valued at £100,000 I believe as 1000000 lots of 1p is £10,000.

The 49p IS important. As has been said it is being counted as a donation to stop the rat in no 11 Downing Street from getting his claws on some of the money we'd be putting into the club via these shares. It makes sense.

I wouldn't look at this approach as a negative but an excellent approach that means the club will benefit 100% for every penny put into buying shares.

Thanks for clarifying that, I didn't think I'd explained if properly. Providing this money will be used to take the team forward, which is what has been promised, then its a fantastic idea.

But those 1 million shares that are being released/ sold off are only a percentage of the whole. I can't remember what percentage he said they were, it was possibly 10% of the total.
