I think we may need Tomlin to move on in the summer, the sell on fee there might be enough to secure our future slightly more long term...?
......and Jacko !! Or was there no sell on fee agreed for him that followed him on???? I'm guessing there isn't.
I think I'm right in saying we got about £90k (20% or so of profit presumably) for Jacko's move to Norwich in the summer. That was banded about on here and Gillingham's forum.

Also, Gillingham put their own sell on clauses in that deal so we'll get something if Norwich sell him.

As for throwing schoolground personal insults around, it does no one here any credit.
I don't mind about keeping quiet about the transfer negotiations Robin, but we were told that we were financially fine at the fans forum. We've gone from that to the threat of administration.
I'm not fickle as my posts have proved on here in the past, But even some form reassuring statement might have helped temper emotions.
They still have a lot to learn, there's no doubt about it. But then there's an awful lot of hearsay, rumour, over-imagination and speculation goes on in this place and it's difficult to keep a calm nerve sometimes just reading this place. A holding statement would have been a good idea I agree.

Oh, I didn't know that. I assumed that once the player was sold on that was it and the next sell-on was solely for the club that bought originally. This is something that probably should be asked at the next Fans Forum, what's the Tommo sell-on, what's the Day sell-on etc.

Well we get a percentage of the
profit from the original fee. So if Jacko is sold on, we are entitled to any profit Gillingham make on that (eg. they've got a 20% sell on clause, we're entitled to 4% of that).

Or 20% of any clause such as £x if Jacko scores 10/15/20 goals.

Thanks for clearing that up, didn't realise that. Thats very positive on the Tommo/Jacko front of things, and hopefully for Day too.

Okay knowing the club is safe is a great relief its been a stressfull few day without knowing whats going on .. But i do have some issues on this its great that posh have dug out us out of a hole once again but im slightly getting fed up of them taking our young and talented players ... Happy for Joe i am an i will wish him all the best for the future,
I am just hoping that we have a massive sell on clause included in the deal as he's guna be a bloody god player and will prop make it all the way and we deserve some higher regonistion we have a great youth set up here and Joe is a product of that !! Im happy were Safe in the short term but its the long term that counts so we dont have anymore starts to the week we have all add with not knowning whats happening to our club, d hate that Dick Barry fry to benefit on profit on our behalf .. we deserve a higher selling on fee for this lad as .. looking back on what Barry did on the Tomlin deal buy trying to buy out the clause wuith a 20k pay out was insulting as he knows if Tomlin goes for big money we will lose out
Luckily im led to believe we turned down that and to right .. We are guna need more money in the long run and we should get a good cut of any profit made of a Future Tomlin or Day deal .....
So thankyou Barry Fry once again ... but give us what where owed in the long run on selling our players as they learnt their trade with us and we deserve credit for that ...

It's worth noting that Tomlin, Jackson & have all come here as rejects from others clubs. Whoever finds these 'rejects' is the real reason Rushden & Diamonds still exists.
