Great to hear that the finances are in place to keep the club going in the close season and that we are ensured of a place in the conference next season with Justin at the helm, well done to Liam and Steve. :D

Great to hear that we will still be around next season, was starting to worry we wouldn't be to honest, like a lot of people.

Also, I see that idiot Ted was sticking the knife in, in today's Evening Telegraph, and calling our supporters lower class workers

I wonder how many of them can afford to write the debts off in this economic climate? :(

Not many I would guess, but its typical Ted, kicking the club when its down as usual, you'd think he'd be more bothered about his own club going down, but obviously not.

The problem with Ted is that he likes the sound of his own voice (or the characters of his posts?).

I feeling a lot better after speaking to the Beasants. I respect them for seeing me and telling me what they told me. I once again recommend that anyone who wants to go down to see them, goes down and talks to them.

Whatever comes out in the next week or month, we need to take a step back, think things through first and assess it rationally.

Yep same, I have no idea what to believe. I think I'll wait for the facts before resting my feelings on sources and limited information.

Mad Dog wrote:-Tomlin's clause is live and intact. Joe Day has clauses and we are receiving money as a result of clauses that Gillingham placed upon Jackson on 1st July. Barry Fry and the Club wanted Joe to continue with us until the end of the season, but FA/ league rules prevented that.

Firstly, good on you for going down to see them Mad Dog.
Clauses still being around is probably the only likely way we will be able to offset most of what is owed, so it's good to hear they are still in tact.
Will be interesting to see how the financial situation is once PbDevs gets up and running, here's hoping I'm not being too hopeful that the club will be ok if the Beasants start making money from that.

Agreed. It's not rosy in the rose guarden, but it's not the apocalypse as implied. Still a tough road ahead, let's not kid ourselves, and the club will need our help in voluntary roles, but there's a bit more light knocking around than first thought if that makes sense.

On the volunteering front, if they want people to do stuff they should advertise on the official website what it is they need help doing - if people know what is needed they'll have a better idea if they have the skills and knowledge to do things. My job is in community work and I know volunteers will only come forward if you're clear on what it is you want them to do, and if you communicate that in a clear and concise way.

Pleased to hear positive things Mad Dog, I'm looking forward to seeing some positive results - talk is cheap as they say - time to walk the walk !
