In reply to Sara's ponit about marketing. I think there are problems with the location in that it is attached to a small town or towns. Much of the industry in Rushden is located on the larger estates further West perhaps making facilities in Wellingborough more attractive? K*ttering ahs some great facilities and I think some of those were made use of by RDFC.

The building of the hotel would certainly have made the location more attractive for residential conferencing/events. As it stands there is no large scale hotel nearby so anyone would have to travel.

I still believe the conferencing and events side is vialble as a way of contributing to the sustainability of the club and looking at some of the skills that people have offered to the cause these could be used to boost the marketing of it. However, for true success the hotel would be needed in my opinion.

The club has not been marketed in a professioal manner for some time , in fact from feed back from certain friends there has also been a certain arrogance when dealing with people. If i had the time i would love the chance of to try and bring in more buisness.I also know 2 people who wanted advertisement boards , we forwarded the names and nothing was done about it . This is a small part of the reason we are in the mire. There is still alot of corporate buisness out there even in the present climate

It's no good blaming anyone, at the end of the day a football club is run like a cycle, fans needs to come to games to keep the club afloat money wise, bills need to be paid by the owner and I think its a fair assessment to say everyone played a part in it.

So instead of pointing the finger maybe its better to focus on supporting the club and keeping the faith.

Tbh if we dwell on who is to blame, we'll never get anything done. The best thing to do is focus upon the phoenix. A phoenix club running out in August 2012 is the best course of action we can take.

KC is the only one sitting pretty here with a pocket full of land in a prime location!

Don't forget it came free issue to him and he will enjoy his reward for a good bit of business completed!

You could say the day Max Griggs walked away we were doomed, he built his playground and then didn't want to play in it for long.

I have had a season ticket for 12 seasons and will miss attending the games but to be fair this season grated on me and once KC sold out the writing was on the wall and his pay day was always going to arrive!

I have to say Garry that sadly you my friend are 100% correct on all points, we have been stumbling towards this outcome for years and that has been fairly obvious to anyone who cared to look. That's not saying that things couldn't have been turned around if the club had been run by Rushden people who had access to the required funds but that scenario never materialised.

Surely "Rushden People" must shoulder a significant proportion of blame for all of this, with 3000 people, primarily from Rushden and the surrounding area / towns having deserted the club pretty rapidly after Max reduced / withdrew his funding.
