It seems that the formation of AFC has prevented many fans to return. If the new club hadn't of been formed then maybe more would have gone along to watch K*ttering. IL and KC proberbly also thought this, as forming a new club we did'nt have enough time to join a mens senior league for this season, but the "500 fans" voted with their feet!Biggles wrote:I was convinced at first that there must have been some other investment or IL is far wealthier than we all thought
There is other investment and that investment came from Maison, this is the reason he is still at the Club as he has fingers in the pie and as i understand it the Corporate side and sale of the Boxes was basically all Maison and his business contacts.
It is amazing how deluded Sadact and Maison were that they believed the old supporters of R+D would follow K*ttering at Nene Park and so give them the 3000 supporters they needed and even Cousins must have believed most would all return to Nene Park just shows how much people believed the Plastic Tag our supporters had.

Re: MM sacked.
I'm not sure that the formation of AFC has anything to do with the falling attendances at NP since any of the 500 or so followers of AFC could watch both clubs if they wished. I suspect it's more the case that the 500 have vowed, like me, to never ever set foot in NP again. In this respect, KC/IL have completely misjudged their target audience.

Its clear that IL sails close to the wind but generally seems to settle his debts, I always thought that MM was an interim with Eaden or Cooper to carry on.................but to be fair I hope they continue and dont go bust!.................we all know how painful that is, I have got over the initial pain of losing our club/ground but cant bring myself to wish any teams to fail, the only way KTFC will get their 2500 is with a good cup run and a succesful league run - they have started poorly and rely a lot on Marnia, odds are they will return to Rockingham Rd.
Re: MM sacked.
IMO More people would wish the pain on KC after all lets face it he was the instigator of this whole sorry mess. I,m sorry but I do wish the pain also on the scum because the majority of their so called fans were delighted with our downfall ! :evil:Dinky Diamond wrote:Its clear that IL sails close to the wind but generally seems to settle his debts, I always thought that MM was an interim with Eaden or Cooper to carry on.................but to be fair I hope they continue and dont go bust!.................we all know how painful that is, I have got over the initial pain of losing our club/ground but cant bring myself to wish any teams to fail, the only way KTFC will get their 2500 is with a good cup run and a succesful league run - they have started poorly and rely a lot on Marnia, odds are they will return to Rockingham Rd.

DAL that is you prerogative, I dont share that view as life goes on. any anger I have is directed to the Beasants who as far as I can see have got off scot free, and of course KC who has got the bargain of a lifetime, not forgetting the Trust who gave the club away.
I am not impressed with any of that regime and I hope people never forget the reasons why we folded, we cant keep blaming K*ttering, their support, their management and their finances were better than ours, they have a history going back a long time and its not right to wish them to fail as thay have genuine fans too!.
I predict a lot of clubs will fold or go very part time because there is no money about - I am viewing occasionally Corby Town mainly because I cant do Tuesdays or Thursdays, and when the Seniors start I may dip my toe in the water again...................in the meantime I wish the youth good luck!

Our club will not need luck if everyone gets involved in a small way, it's hard work that makes it happen.Dinky Diamond wrote:DAL that is you prerogative, I dont share that view as life goes on. any anger I have is directed to the Beasants who as far as I can see have got off scot free, and of course KC who has got the bargain of a lifetime, not forgetting the Trust who gave the club away.

We've never seen the evidence of the facts to what happened with R & DFC, all we've had is one side's story against another - none of which have stacked up

Re: MM sacked.
I don't blame them for our demise, but I do blame a large proportion of their fans for celebrating that demise - look back at their messageboard if you want to see how happy they were. I won't celebrate if/when they go the same way - but I won't be shedding any tears either and I hope their move to NP proves to be a disasterous one that leads them to relegation this year. However, with the appointment of Stimpson I fear they'll start to pull it all together - plus there are some truly dreadful sides in the BSP this year and their squad, on paper at least, should be good enough to get them a mid-table finish, but will that pull in the punters in the numbers they need? I hope not ! Sorry if that offends people, but its how I feel.
TofD, you're spot on with what you say - but we MUST get more people stepping forward to get involved. 200+ attended meetings, if they all did a tiny bit then the future is sorted, if they don't.......well, I hope we don't find out.

Re: MM sacked.
I seem to be in a minority of one (on two current threads at least) in thinking that the many discussions that had apparently gone on regarding mergers / ground shares etc between IL and KC during the previous 2/3 years would have had influence on our demise.........
Are you all suggesting it was purely coincidence, given that K*ttering were desperate for a new ground, that our demise allowed a deal that was palatable to their fans as they could "rebrand" Nene Park rather than having to become "tenants" of their deadly rivals.
Even the Trust reported concerns about the interest from up the A6 before they handed over to KC.
Why do you all call them cuckoos, but not recognise what they have done ?
