Nevertheless, it's still double the attendance that watched North Ferriby United's Trophy replay against Corby Town on Tuesday evening!

Considering they are full time I'm shocked at how poor some of their players were. They were better than us, granted, but the gap wasn't as big as it should have been. I thought Danny Bird was better than any of their players personally.

Our left back was getting dragged all over the place in the first half and they exploited it which shows their extra experience I suppose.

Not too surprised about the attendance, it was bloody freezing.
They say we've lost our money we're not famous anymore.....

I think if we had a bit more creavity going forward we could have possibly caused an upset, it was not the best game to watch but we battled hard. Without being disrespectful to Northampton i felt they were a poor side especially being a football league club, we have played better teams this season in the likes of Cogenhoe, Chenecks and Woodford.

I think the attendance was really good considering it was a cold night, we must have the best supported youth side in the country. We are getting better attendances than many Blue square North/South teams, and we still have fans out there that cant be persuaded by youth football this season but will turn out for a senior side on a Saturday.

I'll respectfully disagree with that - we upped our game massively and made them look average. Northampton were the fittest, sharpest, most well-drilled team we have played this season and that's no dis-respect to the teams that you mention above who are all very good.

I'm not downhearted about the attendance at all, I think we just set ourselves incredibly high standards to be honest - it was a cold midweek night, some people have real trouble getting down to games what with work and all - I've had trouble myself a few times thins season so know how hard it can be. Any crowd of over 300 is fantastic I think, this IS youth football remember? ;)

I thought we were terrific last night, I'd said before the game if we can get within 2 goals of them we'd have done well, but I think we really stepped up and but for a few errors there wasn't the gulf in class I thought there would be. As I said to folk after the game, I think its to the lads credit that I felt a little disappointed after the game, but for a bit more of a cutting edge who knows eh? They weren't streets ahead of us in talent thats for sure.

Yet another thoroughly enjoyable evening at Kiln Park :D

Sadly I shall miss the Daventry game but will be at Olney on the 15th !!

Sorry for disagreeing lads but I canot believe the posts on here are reporting about the same game I was at last night.

I know if you have nothing positive to say then say nothing but Northampton hammered us for 90 mins.

We never looked like scoring and if they could score themselves when the opportunities arrive it would have been easily double figures.

It was no where near close as the other posts suggests, we struggled defensively and down the left and right Northampton tore us apart and we done nothing up top, mainly due to the lack of service and the fact we chased the ball for almost 90 mins and Northampton kept it so well.

Speaking to the Northampton parents this was not there strongest team and they also trained for a few hours during the day so that shows we are miles behind clubs like them.

Bird was great, how far can he go is my question, aim high I would say.

All in all a lesson learned in many respects.

Line-up vs. us:

1. Dean Snedker
2. Daniel Bucciero
3. Dominic Green
4. Lewis Hornby
5. Harry Mattock
6. Josh McGoldrick
7. Claudio Dias
8. Daniel Banister
9. Daniel Elmes
10. Hussein Mohammed
11. George Craddock
Subs:
12. David Moyo (for Mohammed, 64 mins)
14. Jordan Chambers
15. Michael King (for Craddock, 78 mins)
16. Eyasin Hussain (for Elmes, 78 mins)

Line-up vs Cambridge United in FA Youth Cup:
Dean Snedker, Daniel Bucciero, Dominic Green, Lewis Hornby (sub Hussain Mohamed 53), Harry Mattock, Josh McGoldrick, Claudio Dias (sub Michael King 74), Daniel Banister (sub Eyasin Hussain 86), Daniel Elmes, David Moyo, George Craddock. Subs not used: Jak Riley, Jordan Chambers.

One player different in the starting XI and he was on the bench + came on.

So clearly they didn't play their strongest line-up in the FA Youth Cup either then

No, but you are responsible for what you say and quite frankly I won't dignify the rest of your post with a response.
