I suppose it depends how we feel, official FA records may be different, but if the members decide to do so our club records can always include the RDFC stats in our own.

Who, then, is the legal and moral successor to Rushden & Diamonds FC in its all-Griggs-and-glory years?
In the unlikely event of that happening, I still say WE still have the MORAL right to claim that heritage.

I don't think anyone has said we have a legal right to it, but as the fans of the club during a snapshot of time (as in, it was us there at the time who got shafted and we who decided to resurrect the club's name) and as the fans setting up and supporting the club, we do have the MORAL claim.

If a bunch of people who used to follow the old club came on-board with any such new club then it'd be a tug of war between us wouldn't it, each claiming the rights - but the chances of it happening are miniscule.

I don't think for one minute we should continue things like appearance records and the like, we didn't when the old club was formed, but we should recognise and count it amongst our history - the FA have recognised our moral right by calling us a reformed club - its our identity, its who we are as a footballing community.

Surely if the FA have decreed that we are the reformed club then that is the be all and end all. The old club has ceased to exist in the eyes of the footballing authorities and we have taken their place. If someone rescues the business from administration they would still have to apply to become a football club with the FA.

I guess the answer is in the question "what and who are the club?"
As far as I'm concerned it is ultimately the supporters.
