Ashington = ON!! (pitch inspection passed)
Re: On or Off
I can't see them calling the game off after the players have traveled up, with the fact profit/losses are shared I think it would take a lot for them to call it off. Money is tight at this level.

Re: On or Off
Just to clear things up, Ashington will be making a definitive decision tomorrow, before the team coach sets off. The temperature is warming up and is forecast to do so for the next couple of days, so a frozen pitch is becoming less of a worry, however, there is still snow on the pitch and rain forecast tonight and tomorrow, so a waterlogged pitch may become an issue. It really is in the hands of the gods now, both teams are desperate for the game to go ahead, but the last thing either of us want is for us to travel up there only for the match to be called off on Saturday morning. That would be even worse than calling it off and the pitch turning out to be OK (just)!
If it is postponed, the rearrangement will almost certainly be next weekend (weather permitting) although details will be confirmed asap if required.

Re: On or Off
i travel up to Sunderland every now & then & other than the games V N**C**LE & Man Utd tickets are quite easy to getOlly wrote:Could be difficult turning up on the day expecting to get tickets for that one though. Blyth Spartans are away on that day but there's various NL games around the area going on as well like Morpeth Town, but I imagine if Ashington is off then presumably all other NL games may be off as well. Whitley Bay are in the vase that day as well so could be an alternative.Formic wrote:It's a tricky one. Brackley went up to Workington last Friday for an overnight stay before their game against Workington, only for the game to be called off at 11am on the Saturday. For those of us committed to various travel arrangements there are a couple of alternatives in the North East if the game does get called off late on - e.g. Sunderland v Chelsea.
