UCL Saturday games can only usually be called off on the day of the match, however, they have advised that due to the extreme conditions clubs can call off tomorrow's games this afternoon. I would hope we will hear from Raunds this afternoon IF the match is to be called off.
Please bear in mind, however, that there is a protocol which must be adhered to when postponing games, so the information may take a little while to be made public. We will publish any news from Raunds as soon as we are able to do so.

December - February.
Who needs pre-season friendlies?
So does that mean playing September October November March April May June July and August then?

Confirmed as OFF on twitter, Ralph also says there will be a pitch inspection for Tuesday night's game on Monday night. Just hope the weather can clear up by the 26th for the Sileby game, otherwise I may not see another game for over 2 months :(

I can see why a winter shutdown has never happened and never will then.

I've saying for years that it's possible to play more games prior to the onset of winter. For some reason the Authorities never consider this option.

I agree, there could so many more midweek games in Septemper and October, to get in front of games instead of playing catch up all the time 8-)

Only problem there is that cups takes priority early on, with more teams involved until they're knocked out and you also have replays. You have to get the early rounds played in first few months to allow the cups to keep moving along and not have loads called off in the winter. Next season we will be in 4 cups as like many teams in our division.

There are still spare mid-week dates prior to the end of November and most of these minor cup competitions shouldn't go to a replay. Settled on the day, pens after ET, would be my recommendation including the FA Vase. All clubs play catch up in late March and April especially those in leagues that have 46 league matches like the BSP.
Nothing will change, however, because it's the FA we're talking about.

Is it? Individual leagues have choices regarding fixtures, bat your suggestion about no replays in the Vase.
For the record, I am not against an extra midweek game here or there early in the season, but this shouldn't mean that a dry and warm winter forces clubs into free Saturdays later in the season.
