I asked Jeremy Biggs why this reserve game was called off, why we couldn't have played two back-to-back games, and why one of the games couldn't be played on a Sunday. I'm not sure what position he is in to answer those questions but I got the following response:
I believe the ICA have made a protest over some aspect of last week's game. Don't know more than that.
Doesn't mean much to me. Who's the ICA?

Are they trying to imply that one of the side's used an ineligable player maybe?

ICA were the team Chenecks' reserves beat last Saturday in the Lower Junior Cup. They lodged a protest after the game (I've no idea what about) which the NFA are currently investigating.

I think the fact that the NFA are taking their time with the enquiry confirms the suspicion there was no desperate haste for this game to be played. Quite why they needed to stage the next round (the semi-final) at seven days notice with all the problems that caused is a mystery. Last season the final wasn't held until April, so surely there's ne real need to complete the semi-finals by 9th February.
