Fantastic effort by everyone today, on and off the pitch. Its a transformation on the pitch, no way was there going to be a game on tomorrow at 9am this morning, the pitch looked awful - but a day of sun on it and some forking great work by Hayden (see what I did there ;) ) I'd say its got a 90% change of going ahead, needs another dry day (fingers crossed) and possibly a bit more sand on it tomorrow - great to see so many people turn up earlier to answert the call to tend to the pitch, brilliant effort guys !!

Off the pitch we focused on completing the various bits we needed for the ground grading inspection, so fingers crossed that will be met with approval - its been a tiring day, but I've really enjoyed it in a perverse way - massive thanks to Bob, Andy, Greg and Hayden for their help today :D

Having an early night now...........

It's a bit quiet for a match day!

There were two quick goals in the first match at Corinths so let's hope for the same.

The weather will certainly be different to the beautiful late September afternoon at Rothwell.

I really didn't expect this game to go ahead - a terrific effort by those at the ground yesterday.

The plus side to getting the game on is that Sean McBride will be available for selection on Saturday against Oadby, but on the downside the attendance could be fairly low due to the very cold weather, plus the live England game on tv.
I expect it could be our lowest crowd of the season.

Yeah could struggle to make 300 I agree, hopefully Saturday's crowd will make up for that by being our highest crowd (home) of the season! But as much as the England game is a big one, I'll take live UCL football over it anyday and can't wait for my first home game since 12th January, so fantastic effort by the volunteers to get the game on :D

I agree, Martin. Televised live football is the single most damaging factor over the last decade or so for lower league and non-league evening attendances. Anything around 350 would be excellent.
England are c**p and I fully expect them to get turned over tonight.

I agree that this will be our lowest attendance of the season given the England game and the cold weather, however the vital thing from our point of view is that we've avoided a postponement which would have added to the fixture backlog. A big thank you and well done to the volunteers yesterday.
