Re: [ Mon 1st Apr ] v Wboro Whitworth, KO 3pm UCL1 AWAY
Boring match on a very poor and extremely bumpy pitch. The ball hardly travelled on the deck and we looked a little leggy which is only to be expected after Saturday's exertions with 10 men. Typical Whitworths getting the boot in but we shouldn't have conceded that late goal. Add that to the Sileby, Thrapston and Bourne late goals and it seriously affects our goal difference. We really need to put Potton, Raunds and ON Chenecks to the sword and improve our goal difference.
However, in the end of the day it's three points, we havn't lost ground with Oadby and have received an unexpected bonus from Sileby slipping up at Spencer.
It ain't over until the fat lady sings and Starms needs to get the lads to focus on the ON Chenecks fixture and ensure we don't slip up there this Saturday.

If we didn't let the goal in against Sileby we wouldn't need to worry about GDTrek wrote:Boring match on a very poor and extremely bumpy pitch. Of course, but the point I'm making is late goals are costing us big time. It's a question of maintaining concentration which we failed to do once again.Rushdenjim wrote:

I don't think tired legs was the excuse for an awful display of playing at your opponents level. There were enough players on the bench with as much quality as the starting players, for Starms to make some changes, keep the players fresh, and still win the game. They must be cringing watching those who start, playing so poorly, yet only get 5 or 10 minutes. The worst match I can remember.
