So if it's segregated, Ron, Brackley will also have to provide separate toilets and refreshment facilities for Halifax fans.

Speaking of segregation, does anyone know how segregation would work at the D&D and with a certain rival of ours only a level above us (and in the county cup with us), we may have to have a segregated match at some point in the relatively near future.

An awful lot of work would be needed for segregation at the Dog and Duck ie separate turnstiles, toilets and refreshment facilities. Corby Town provided for a separate turnstile facility at Steel Park for away fans but as they have no seating, toilets and refreshment facilities it has never been used IIRC, in fact, it is not currently a requirement for participation at Step 2 level.

I notice the Doughboys have invited KTFC to the D&D for a pre-season friendly, so they'll see what improvements have been made, and be able to compare with Latimer Park.

Yeah I did think it would take a big upheaval, do you think we could get away with unsegregated against K*ttering in the Hillier cup?

The Hillier Cup never held much attraction for RDFC or K*ttering Town when they were a Conference Club and not regarded as a 'senior' fixture. However for us and the Ploppies operating at our current level then this competition would appeal to both sets of fans and probably would get a far larger attendance than a few seasons ago and something that both clubs would need to manage without incident should such a match take place.

I agree, I'm not sure I ever actually attended a Hillier cup game for RDFC, but like you say, considering our level and the opportunity the tournament provides to play opposition from higher leagues like Brackley, Corby and K*ttering (as opposed to the Junior cup full of village/park opposition or when we were in the conference), I'd be certainly more interested in it now. Sure they're not the most attractive opposition in the world, but it would be very interesting to see how much interest a game against K*ttering would attract, I think it would attract a fair crowd tbh, if merely for the novelty of seeing us meet them in our new guise for the first time.

Well we criticised them for their lack of support, but fair play to them, 1350 tickets sold in a day shows that at least the town has some interest in its club, though whether those new fans will ever go back remains to be seen.
