I think we all knew Chris Hopski would not leave us.

In other news, the Community Teams have welcomed a coach from Poland in the last couple of months. He's played at a Championship equivalent club in the youth system at home and will be working with the Under 12's next season.

We have a UEFA B coach who has worked at Reading's Academy and managed at Southern League level taking over the Under 15's and coaching the Under 14 Cosmos team.

Both of these chaps joined us after seeing what the club was all about and meeting some of our key Community personnel, and me.

Sad to see Jake go, but I don't think many of us would turn down the amount that BR said was offered. To call him a Judas is extremely unfair, it's a slightly higher level and better pay, of course he should try at the highest level possible!

He might be one-footed but every player around this level are the same. My favourite goals were Ashington, the one at Buckingham when he slid it past (the shit) keeper and the Potton one where he showed both his great composure and one-footedness, by rounding the keeper and taking the last defender out to score.

I'll be very interested to see how he gets on at SLD1 level and I wish him the best of luck in scoring many consolation goals. I wonder if this opens the door for Turner? Alfie-Dunkley-Turner would be a front three and a half!

Completely agree, I liked him with all the goals he scored and he was a top striker for UCL Div 1, but he was a bit of a frustrating player to watch at times, 26 goals is a superb tally for anyone, but it really should have been more I feel with the positions he got himself into, too often he made poor decisions in the box or wasted glorious chances. I'm not sure he'll be good enough for the SL tbh, he's a great striker to have in the UCL, but maybe not a SL player.

I won't do the typical fan thing of automatically hating him cause he signed for a club we don't like, but I must say my initial reaction was one of disappointment that he'd sign for our rivals, but who are we to dictate where a player goes.

Apologies to mixing up Joe and Sean, maybe its time we did give Sean a contract.

Perhaps opens the door for someone else other than Turner?

Who knows, however I still think we need a couple of players in before the start of the season. I'm sure that Starms and Peaksy have a few potentials up their sleeves though. ;)

Heard some positives from Parky on Twitter as well, might see him back by August.

What I would do is urge people to get their memberships renewed and season tickets when they come out. Bug people you know who might be thinking about it this year. 8-)

honestly though, good luck to jake,i was unsure when he came and i said he didn't look like he wanted to be here, then he started to to score(and didn't stop)and looked at home, becoming a fans favourite.i personally think he will become a bit of a journey man (a bit like millsy) nothing wrong in that, but it would have been nice to see him stay for another season but hey ho ,come on starmsy whos next ;) ;)
good luck jake and thanks for some great memories :D :D (and check your bank balance every week ;) ;) )

I wish the lad all the luck in the world, he's going to need it !! He did well for us and for that I'm grateful.

I fully understand why he's gone, for the reasons already stated, higher div, pay etc, but I'm not 100% convinced its the right move for him right now, but I hope he proves me wrong - for his sake, certainly not theirs ;)

They stole our ground, they stole our training kit, they're now stealing our players..... they just want to be us really don't they, why don't they just come out and admit it ;) :)
