Spalding at the moment look even more unbeatable than Sileby did at this stage of the season last year and they absolutely destroyed local rivals Holbeach last night 5-0 and haven't conceded since the first day of the season, so yeah, the title may be out of reach this season unless we can beat Spalding twice. But looking up the table, we're 4th in the table if we win our 4/5 games in hand, so we're certainly not doing that badly at all and I'm confident we will be in the top 4 at the end of the season and of course hope for a Vase run at least into the new year hopefully.

Just watched the match highlights and more importantly Starms post match interview and clearly he has the same view as many of our fans who dared to give their opinion on our second half defending. ;)

Also, sorry Brownie but I have to take issue with some of your post. Who in our team is hated? And the 'there's only so much crap somebody is prepared to take' - please explain as I rarely see any direct criticism on this forum, let alone regular direct criticism at the same player. I've never seen it happen at a game either. Well, not since the days of Greg Pearson!
Did do a long answer but site crashed as being sent so lost & not starting again. So short version. The words Hated & ref to Crap were a
not mine so presume you had not noticed them. While I may not feel this is the view of many if any it was written. Yes Tue was not good but in saying that we created more than enough chances to have won the game, but we didn't but then we watched 11 players all of whom had just finished a days work sadly have a collective bad day. More than the 11 out there had the opportunity to possibly alter that but none of us could, though in saying that the 12th man had possibly our worst performance to date. Everyone welcomes constructive remarks but IMO it appears we all want to see attacking football which is something that happens as a complete team but we don't expect to concede, not sure both can be possible. That aside we have conceded to many goals including a few bloody soft ones but it's a collective responsibility and that's everyone not just the 11 on the pitch. And if that's not the case then the is a simple answer make changes.

We may have to be careful what we wish for, as IMO the lads we have are a decent bunch and I would think at this level and for £not a lot a week,

I am not sure that a 3 figure pay packet per match is £not a lot.
Won't talk numbers on an open forum & possible you are more in the know, but I would suggest if we have players on 3 figures per match they are in a very small minority.
However some points I believe to be facts are. The level of pay to the vast majority of our squad assuming they play every game and we win them all daft assumption but here goes. Given the travelling they do to training & games at an allowance of 50% that considered acceptable by HMRC. Saying all travel time is unpaid ie although a exceptional one last Sat was a 4 1/2 hour day not the 14 it was for most of the lads. So after the cost incurred on travel expenses, divide what's left between the hours spent at the ground or training. It's possibly about on a par with min wage. However if it's looked at as 90 mins x 2 then yes it's a lot better. But yes it's more than some in this league but then a awful lot less than others, but then I've never doubted the vast majority of our squad are here for reasons other than money.

After taking in the past few days I wanted to add my thoughts. Yes we lost Tuesday and I am sure everyone is dissapointed as we all thought that if we played to our near best we would win the game. We didnt play to that level so we lost against a decent team who played quick counter attacking football and probably just deserved it by their attacking play and decent defending. However we could and probably should have won it if we had taken some more of our chances and made better choices in the final third. Equally if we hadnt had a bad day defensively then we would have won the game Im sure. But players do have off days, there cant be a game gone by (without probably 2 exceptions) where 1 or 2 players have performed below what we and Im sure themselves expect. When that happens you can probably carry them and still go on and get the win. The difference on Tuesday is that there were 4 or 5 who didnt play that well, and you really struggle when that happens. I think that our back 4 are very good players for this level, some days it doesnt gel. As for our attcking play we do use Duncs very well but when these is not working we have to go to plan B. The problem with this is that I thought our wide play on Tuesday was poor. We will finish higher than the 2 teams who have beaten us so far but I cant see us overhauling Spalding but it will be great fun giving it a try.

I think at times, some of us forget that we are a UCL PREM side, not a League One side!

Our players won't have perfect pin point passes 100% of the time, we won't win 8-0 every week, players will have off games.

It's part and parcel of football I'm afraid... I'm sure we'd love 3 points each week, but we aren't playing sides like Wooton, Bourne or Buckingham this season!!

I'm just happy to have a senior side to watch, we have the perfect opportunity to put Tuesday night's result behind us and hopefully give Woodford a thrashing!!
