Surely they'll do that at a home game in front of the 120 or do faithful won't they? Or maybe the UCL Board don't fancy a drive to deepest darkest Spalding .......... or more likely, they prefer our cake ;)

Poses the question that if the UCL hierarchy decide to present Spalding with the Trophy on the 5th April at what stage of the proceedings will they do that? If it's pre-match then the Tulips will be in party mood and candidates for getting thumped by us. If it's post-match then I don't think there will be many fans from our club who will bother to stay behind to witness it.

I certainly won't be watching it if it's after the game, not because I'm bitter and twisted that they won the league but because I've got a family to get home too to make their tea and I always leave as soon as the final whistle is blown!!!

If it's before the game then that is a deliberate attempt by both Spalding and the UCL to wind us up. If it's after the game nobody is going to stay and watch it.

Always remember watching Cambridge United being awarded the old 4th Division Championship Trophy at the Abbey Stadium, when managed by Ron Atkinson, prior to their last home match back in 1977 in front of a crowd of almost 8000. Party hats and balloons galore. By halftime they were 3-0 down to Swansea!

Just a shame it`s not a night game, at least then we could have the pleasure of turning the lights off, if they hadn`t gone off already.
Presume they will do it after the game and Mal can get a good angle of the backs of our heads leaving the ground. But like Trek said, if it`s going to be done that day then before please to put Spending Utd in a perfect frame of mind to receive the double from us. Either way given they still have a home game to play it`s right up there as the UCL`s f..in daft idea of the season, though sadly with 4 weeks to go they have time to cap it.

I hope that Bob and Jim can get in the background of all the photos, whilst taking down the nets and emptying the bins. I hope that no one's left and they look really silly with no announcements on the PA or anything. :D

Its one of these stories you think must be a typical Facebook troll story, as no league would want to present a trophy on an opponents ground - but then you think of some other UCL decisions and begin to wonder.

Perhaps they remember presenting the UCL1 trophy to Sileby when there was only one person in the crowd who appeared to be celebrating - and there were probably more Diamonds fans in attendance than Sileby fans.

The were more Diamonds players there that night than Sileby fans.
To be fair to them they had to do the Sileby one at S..tworths as it was last game and they needed a point, as has been the case on a few other occasions, but the is no need with this one.
See some Spending Fans?? on UCL are moaning about having to travel to see it, presume they wanted to complete the season without going out of sight of the tulip fields. Could run a sweep stake on here, how many of Fat Pat`s barmy army will turn up, more than the 19 who went to S & L. Good suggestion from P Winnie though, the UCL should put on a couple of tandems or a taxi for those Spending wishing to make the trip.

Perhaps they'll all be having a celebration after the match at Fat Pat's Noodle Bar in Corby on the way home from the Dog & Duck. :D
