Max to return the facility to the local community via new Trust, which I've always maintained he should have done in the first place when passing RDFC to the old Trust in April 2005.
KC to cut his losses and get rid of a facility that not's producing much income, apart from car boot sales, and costing him monthly ongoing expenditure such as business rates and utility payments etc.

How would this be financed?
Never mind how it's financed, bet one certain lady (used in the loosest sense) will come as part of any deal. Though sure a use could be found for her. Answers on a post card please.

K*ttering - obviously not
Corby - nope
Us - couldn't afford it + it's way too big and is hard to get to.
Northampton - developing their ground
Coventry - no public travel links from Coventry.

Sounds like a silly rumour to me.
Well regardless of public transport links, Coventry surely is the only one it could realistically be? Unless Max is planning on going crazy and creating a new club to take up the leagues again

But seriously, I'd be amazed if this rumour is anything other than complete bullshit, it just makes no sense, why on earth would he come back just for a bit of nostalgia, after all that's happened with the place since he buggered off? Seriously, just bulldoze the place please!

The Posh are having a ground development project and would need somewhere to use for training and possibly to play a few games while the work is completed... :?:

It's said that Max ensured that the land can only be used for Sports for 100 years or whatever. Maybe he is the only one that can reverse that contract? He brought the land back, will knock it down and build something else. (Eg, Leisure facility or homes) I would say that are far more realistic option than any club moving in.

If (big if) this is true and MG wanted to develop, would he be able to build residentials as long as they were built above flood level?* (i.e. on stilts or something proper) Housing would be a nicer way for it to be developed IMO.

*I think this might be a stupid question, I'm not sure.

I understand that the covenant for 100 years plus relates only to the area of the playing surface, noting the pitch is in the identical position, even located east to west, as the old Irthlingborough Diamonds pitch.

Regarding the question of housing, it is very unlikely that the Local Authority would ever permit housing in that location for a variety of reasons, leisure or commercial development maybe. The hotel planning permission which must have cost KC (and others) approaching £100k in planning and professional fees has nearly expired so that was a pointless exercise.
