Very good performance from the lads today. Thought we had the better of the first half. Shaw Lane were restricted to the odd chance during that period.

They started better first part of the second half, but we rode our luck and defended very doggedly to keep them out. Bit of a soft goal to give them the lead, but with a bit of luck from a deflected shot from Bunts, we got back level. It was no more than we deserved to be honest. A great all round team performance.

Apart from a couple of iffy decisions thought the referee was excellent today.

Another thoroughly enjoyable "awayday". Good journey to probably our furthest trip of the season, another good welcoming club....even got free mince pie with the programme and only £3 entry.

Something of a strange ground layout with nothing but a steep bank behind one goal where public were prohibited. Once again the ground was set high on a hill, just like Stockbridge.so although sunny to start with, it soon got cold. Finding the clubhouse after the match was a bit of a trek as it was a different one to where we met before the game.

But a good all round complex catering for Football, Rugby, Cricket and Bowls and maybe a few others we did not see. If only we could get a place like that.

Oh yes we also played a match there. Terrific display from the lads , all worked extremely hard and limited chances to a minimum. I don't recall Shaw Lane having more than 3 or 4 corners in the match whereas we had several particularly in the first half.

Very impressed with Ben Farrell, first time I have seen him play. And as usual Liam Dolman was so in control, he really does live for these big games.
Richard Bunting once again scores a crucial goal, he certainly has the knack of producing the goods when it really counts.

Only downside was having to listen to Robbie Parsons and Joe Curtis singing on the way home!!! :clapping: :joy: :clapping: :notworthy:
