Dillon was fantastic against Tividale with exception to missed chances and will continue to build his relationship with Nabs, one bad game (from the majority of players) and we are already calling out our own players... Hoban hasn't played much Football over the last few months and is only just getting his match fitness back, Punter is a young player and is just settling into the team yet we feel the need to write him off already, give our players a chance! I am all for fan opinion but we have had a great start to the season and yesterday was an off day for everyone. Get behind the boys on Saturday and hopefully, our players will perform like we know they can against a tough side.
What exactly do you think fans forums are for? And what do you envisage ever happening on a fans forum that would "help the situation"?

The same fans that call out players and management for poor performances/tactics, will be the first ones cheering them on during the next game.

I'm disappointed to see us fall backwards in recent weeks - was excited to witness some thrashings down this way this season.
To be honest, some of you on here want the board removed, the management sacked, the players all replaced and the kit changed if you don't win the toss.

Football fans in general have no sense of realism where their team is concerned. Young Diamond has made a sensible post, you don't lose the league in September just as you don't win it.

There can also be a thin line between a goal going in or not. If dolman had of scored his penalty, then we'd have gone 2 up, we probably would have seen the game out. We all would have come away saying another three points in the bag and it was a solid home performance. As it was we underperformed yesterday, but how many times have we bounced back from a poor result? Next Saturday we go in as underdogs and all we can ask from the lads is a they give it their all.

Let's not go all silly with this. It was a defeat that will shake up the management and players. Don't forget, they are all members too so will be hurting like us. We haven't fallen off a cliff just got a bit muddled up. It will turn around.

Please could you explain this bit further? I'm just looking at this season's form: WWWWDWL. Your bemoaning of a "fall backwards" is an away point, a hard-fought cup win and a slim home loss (which will happen over the course of a season).

10 points from 5 games is a good promotion-level haul. Get a grip.

Scraping a victory versus a team two levels below us, and losing at home to a promotional rival, are two disappointing showings, especially when compared to our start, when the ambition is to be Champions. Hopefully we pick up and this isn't season isn't another nearly...

Although we were poor on Saturday the criticism of a couple of players staggers me. Dillon has shown that he has cracking movement and intelligence something that has sadly been lacking upfront for us since Berwick left, it's only a matter of time until he and nabs click.

Yes we were outplayed on Saturday and if it continues it'll be a worry but sometimes it's not a bad thing to throw a bad performance in to shake the players out of their complacency.

We all know Oundle Diamonds talks garbage, but Sussex Diamond?? As much as I like Tom Lorraine, and I do a lot, for you to say Dills isn't a patch on him... I can only question your football knowledge. I urge you to watch him closely. His footballing brain is the best we have seen at AFCR&D. For a smallish guy, his retention is class. His movement is fantastic. His awareness of where nabs is for flick ons is great and ever improving. He'll score 20 goals this season, and I'd say 15 of those will be from within 12 yards. I love Lorraine, you don't get many athletes like him at this level and he must be a nightmare to handle for the last 20mins. But Dillon is different gravy.

We all know the centre back situation isn't ideal, and hasn't been for some time, but reliable centre halves don't seem to grow in trees. To be fair to Punter he was playing out of position for the most part of the game, and I feel that's where the management made a bit of a boo boo. Imo should've gone with Brown and Ford at full backs, regardless of how left sided they both are. Although Punter may not be the ideal long term solution, I for one will be backing him no end for the next few weeks if chosen.

We all know what Claudio can do, and although he didn't have his best game for us on Saturday, he's a great option.

We're a Westwood, Ashton and Oulton away from a championship winning team. I just hope we not have to plug the gaps for too long, otherwise we may drop a few more points.

I don't think we pressed high enough without the ball on Saturday, and when we did have it we gave it away more times than I have ever seen a diamonds team give it away.

we we're only really the better team for the last 20minutes of the first half. Ah well, at least we won't get complacent in the future, and it's still our best start yet.

I've just read Peaksy and Bully's comments in the ET and they're both honest and spot on, I'm sure they'll address the issues in-house and we can all enjoy a cup trip on Saturday.

Win or Lose, we're on the booze. And if we draw, we'll drink some more. :drinks:

Dillon showed his quality in front of goal in a couple of pre season games, he looks like a proper centre forward of non-league calibre. Something we've being crying out for. He did have a poor game on Saturday but so did most of the team. Let's give the lad a chance
